I was just thinking about this today, what if the current Pakistan team also had Amir and Asif along with the best spin attack in the world of Ajmal, Afridi, Rehman and Hafeez. Quite a scary though. Could Pakistan have been the best team in the world now??? If not they would surely be serious contenders imo. What dyou guys think?

The spinners seemed to have raised their game to another level imo, and also their batting seems quite alright atm with youngsters like Shafiq and Azhar Ali also coming good along with Younis Khan. Plus, Kamran Dropmal isn't there now to feck it up for Pak :winky:

They would still be the number 6-7 team in the world. The primary reason being Salman Butt would still have been your test captain, Younis and Misbah would have retired and that buffoon Ijaz Butt would still be your board chariman.

IF we leave aside the fact of the no-balls, cuz other than the no-balls they were still winning Pak some matches. And on a purely talent and skill thing, hypothetically, if they weren't cheaters?

Leaving aside the OTT Indian hype to chawla and patel bhai, we all know just how good Amir and Asif were. If you still have doubts, their short record speaks for itself in comparison to Munaf and Chawla.

tahir imo is good enough.. botha is underrated and in sub continent steyn always gets wickets cos of reverse swing sub continent isnt really so bad for quicker bowlers..if u have the skills.. morkel, steyn definately can bowl well even here they are the only team who troubled india in india won in england won in australia drew with us...also i dont care if ur paki or not..some pakistani guys i know here would agree with what i said.. i really support pakistan where they deserve.. this is not one of them :P im not gonna reply again this is stupid thread lol

and btw hafeez and rehman only started good after the exit of Amir and Asif. Think if we replaced Cheema and Gul with Asif and Amir, how good will their bowling've been? Constant threat
