No..Yadav's was 152.5K, Aaron's was 153.4K.

That he has pace is now quite clear. Needs some control and fin the optimum length to bowl at. In the ODIs here, he's been either too full or too short, everytime he has hit the good length he has been hard to score off.

Just pace won't do anything .accuracy is needed too .

He was accurate enough most of the time. He went for boundaries but problem is if a bowler is coming to bowl in 23rd over how is he going to take wickets. Ball is not old enough, not new enough to swing. He bowled with the new ball against WI, played 3 ODIs, swung the ball and took wickets with the new ball. While here part timers are bowling ahead a strike bowler. It does not do good for a fast bowler's confidence at all.

Yar, whatever people say, I will stick with this guy. We already have wasted or are wasting another genuine quick Ishant Sharma. Whereas other teams with Broad, Morkels and Pattinson are making most of their fast bowling talents. I will give enough opportunities to Umesh Yadav and keep giving opportunities after opportunities. He is one of the rarest talent coming out of India in many decades. We have to be more wise and patience with Umesh Yadav

I recall an over by Nehra in 2003 world cup (IIRC against Eng) where he was in high 140s and touching 150 the whole spell. Even ishant was pretty quick in his early days and when we toured Aus last time round. But yeah this defo was one of the fastest over by an Indian. Pity Umesh wasn't that accurate later on and was carted around by the Aussie batsmen.

I recall an over by Nehra in 2003 world cup (IIRC against Eng) where he was in high 140s and touching 150 the whole spell. Even ishant was pretty quick in his early days and when we toured Aus last time round. But yeah this defo was one of the fastest over by an Indian. Pity Umesh wasn't that accurate later on and was carted around by the Aussie batsmen.

Nehra did not touch 150, his fastest was 149, was mainly in 145K range.

He was bowling back of length deliveries in Tests which batsmen can leave but in odis it's a great length to bowl as batsmen need to score quickly. Umesh and Ishant bowling in tandem in Aus in odis around 150 kph would have been great for us and not too easy for the opposing batsmen.

He was not carted around if you saw the match. They were just deflected his deliveries which strayed in line. Carted were Vinay and Pathan in end overs. Even in 46th over, Yadav had only given 7 runs while Vinay and Pathan who bowled last 4 overs were taken for more runs ans they bowled lollipops to Christian. Yadav should have been bowled there. He may or may no have gone for runs, but hitting the ball at his pace would not have been easy. Yadav went for too many runs in only 1 over in batting power play where he went for 12 runs but he bowled 2 poor deliveries in that over one on the pads went for 4 and second a very short delivery to Hussey which he pulled, otherwise he was very hard to hit in his other 6 overs and don't forget one miss fidld by PK which went for 4.

The spell you are talking about was against England and that was played in Durban under lights on a helpful tracks for pacers under lights as is Gabba under lights. He touched 149 in another match. India had the disadvantage of batting under lights at Gabba. It was a flat track when Indians bowled, but under lights it always swings more and that is why a score as big as 289 has never been chased at Gabba because it becomes hard batting second at Gabba. A lot of people have forgotten this fact. Dhoni's strategy to contain has backfired. It was Dhoni who bowled Raina and Rohit when Hussey was new at the crease and he made merry. IF we had got 1-2 wickets at that time, game could have been different and then Rohit also dropped Hussey's catch early on.

honestly this is the reason yesterday i got angry and started supporting australia only good outcome from this tour umesh yadav... and these guys are trying there level best to destroy him instead of backing him up.. they are setting good example.. be tundler u will get new ball :wall: would love to see pathan and vinay on there bad days they give old ball to youngster ask him to bowl in power plays with batsmen set and hten expect him to bowl like steyn form word go this is the reason we dont have fast bowlers and once in 10 years we get one and he becomes a tundler in a year im gonna start behaving like dandaroy now gay hind! :mad:

In Tests batsmen may see you off but in odis they will be forced to score quickly and Ishant's back of the length deliveries won't be as easy to score off in Aus.[/quote'] He conceded 46 in 7 overs that because of that 12 run over in batting PP, other he did not go more 6-7 in any over and most of those were 1s and 2s and remember he bowled when the ball was old and it is a disadvantage in Australia to start with older ball because it is the new ball which swings, seams, and gives a bowler opportunity to take wickets. Kookabura does not swing for more than 10 overs and it was not a green top was just a flat track and but for some strange reasons, ball start swinging a lot here under lights than it does in day light.
