Androcottus Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Defensive captaincy as usual from Dhoni. Now that Dhoni's been banned for the next ODI, maybe Sehwag or Gambhir (whoever the captain is) will open the bowling with Yadav and Zaheer. Yadav is a strike bowler and should bowl 6 overs first up when he can swing the new ball at express pace and the rest at the death. He may get hit for runs but he'll definitely get you wickets.
Androcottus Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 IMO the bowling attack against the Lankans should be: Umesh Yadav Zaheer Khan Irfan Pathan R Ashwin Vinay / Jadeja
chainsmoker1985 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 I said this before and again now. Dhoni had forgotten a key point in this series that Yadav is a ROOKIE in international cricket and he needs to be groomed first before using him as a 'Trump Card'. Dhoni is saving him as if he is Malinga, for the last stages of the series and for the last overs of the match. He first needs to realize that Umesh now slowly starting to settle his feet in test matches but in one dayers, he is still a rookie and he needs to learn bowling in one dayers then you can use him as a 'trump card'. Whereas he is bringing him on when almost half the innings is over and the momentum has completely shifted towards batting side and on a juicy pitch, we needed a strike bowler with new ball. Sometimes, its better to come out of your normal thinking zone and start giving a thought to what all the others are asking you to do
chainsmoker1985 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 IMO the bowling attack against the Lankans should be: Umesh Yadav Zaheer Khan Irfan Pathan R Ashwin Vinay / Jadeja IMO, Jadeja is completely useless in these conditions. We again needs to get rid of him
MCcricket Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 These days I am happy not to see Dhobi and Tendulkar in our playing 11, Dhobi is worst test capt I have seen for a while , better ODI capt but out of depth playing in OZ OR ENG , SA ALSO HATES FAST BOWLERS, HE WILL RUIN CAREERS , PRETTY MUCH RUINED IK'S.TENDULKAR PHEW THIS 100TH 100 IS RUINING HIS GAME FOR A YEAR OR MORE, YES HE IS SCORING A FEW BUT USELESS RUNS AND NOT HIS USUAL SELF.
rkt.india Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Whiff of fresh air performance by Yadav From every one...why single out one
Pagalpanti Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Because its been 3 ODI's? And he's yet to show why he's different from the likes of previous trundlers we've tried. I think with every game its clear, he just doesn't have game plan. Just runs and bowls fast, sprays around. No thinking at all.

Malcolm Merlyn Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Give the guy time.as if all our other bowlers are don. Sent from my GT-I9103 using Tapatalk
asterix Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 I think he's getting complacent..He needs to step up a bit. It's all good to say that "he needs experience etc." but he must realise that it's Indian team we are talking about..If he gets dropped, it'll be hard for him to come back in the team as competition is heating up. For mee too he appears to be just going through his motions..Doesn't looks like planning or setting up the batsmen. Also he goes theough his over quickly (could be the reason he's not thinking much to set the batsmen up). Too many length deliveries to new batsmen.. I still don't know what's his strike delivery.. What's his main weapon? Does he tries to set the batsmen to strike with his main delivery? Phacking Eric Simons..Hope he leaves the scene as soon as possible..Hasn'r fecking done anything to help the bowlers (new or experienced).. Nobody can say that, that's Eric Simon's idea or strategy.. We hear so much of David Saker during the matches..
CG Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Whiff of fresh air performance by Yadav He atleast got a wicket,The trundler did not even pick one:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
ganeshran Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 He atleast got a wicket' date='The trundler did not even pick one:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:[/quote'] Ya phaasht boller bolled so well to pick up wickets at 68 ... trundler saala hasnt done jack in the tourney so far --just picked up 9 wickets so far :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
rkt.india Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Ya phaasht boller bolled so well to pick up wickets at 68 ... trundler saala hasnt done jack in the tourney so far --just picked up 9 wickets so far :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Dont fool people. Vinay bowled at MCG and Perth two of the best bowling tracks for fast bowler this series. Yadav bowled on pattas at Adelaide and Gabba. see what vinay has done at Gabba in last 2 matches. Vinay has not been much better at Adelaide and Gabba than Yadav.
saneindian Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 So what difference did the aggressive captaincy of Sehwag made to Umesh' bowling? Lets not derail the thread by mocking Umesh. The focus should be on handling of Umesh by DHoni and Sehwag. Under Sehwag, last two matches Umesh has had figures of 1/75 and 1/58.

saneindian Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 he got a wicket. Yeah bowling Raina and Virat ahead of Umesh in the death overs was such a morale booster for the young bowler.
Karan114 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Ya phaasht boller bolled so well to pick up wickets at 68 ... trundler saala hasnt done jack in the tourney so far --just picked up 9 wickets so far :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Sixteenth on the list in terms of wickets and the most expensive bowler in the tournament from all sides. Pretty damning statistics

The focus should be on handling of Umesh by DHoni and Sehwag. Under Sehwag, last two matches Umesh has had figures of 1/75 and 1/58. That is not Sehwag's fault. Sehwag did well to bring him up early in 6th over but if a bowler does not respond and went for runs, it does not change the fact that Dhoni's handling was poor. His bowling with newer ball was necessary because he swung the white new ball considerably in India against WI, but here hot conditions did not help swing the ball much.

If the figures for the two bowlers had been reversed, you and the rest of the phaasht baller gang would be first ones hyping up Yadav and dissing dhoni for sticking with Vinay Kumar.
