Positives for Tendulkar, Rahane, and the Indian ODI team

Rahane failed in all matches except 2 innings in 12 matches and seems mumbai lobby wants replacement from mumbai only...Rahane is fit for test cricket..

Rahane should be played in Tests first and not be forced into odis coz of his FC record in the longer version of the game. People wanted him into the team in the series as he's technically good and should be able to handle new ball in Aus where the winning score is not 300+ and Rahane should be able to make the difference playing his natural game.

Yes try uthappa,But mukund is a sitting duck against short pitch stuff,he needs to work on his game against bouncers first,he hangs back all the time.

forgot about sachin think about sehwag his last 10 scores in aus 21, 37, 6 ,33, 11 ,14, 17 ,10 ,20, 0 he avgs 22.28 in aus thanx to 90 odd runs he scored aginst zim does he deserve to play wc 2015 in aus he should retire along with sachin

This tour has proven good for youngsters. Guys like Yadav and Virat have improved with each game. What a learning curve it would've been for Rahane, surely he wouldn't have performed worse than this.

^ You're right. Let's let Tendulkar play IPL and CL for another year and while Rahane does decently in his absence, send him home the next time Tendulkar has the urge to play an ODI a year later. Let's keep doing it year after year - what a vision!

Rahane is on verge of being dropped from Mumbai team, forget about India. Their are enough places open in Indian team as of now. All 11 of them can be dropped from team without being totally unreasonable (I am not joking). Rahane hasn't done monstrously well in the chances given. And even if he did, he could have been taken into squad in place of Raina, who is not going to play a WC in Australia. For that matter I doubt even if Dhoni would be in team for WC 2015. Points are: 1. Each international game is there to be won. Not to groom youngsters. 2. This has been collective failure. Heads should roll starting right from Coach and from Captain, not from Sachin.

Someone who doesn't even enter the cricket field or someone who has been India's best batsman in the series should be held more accountable than a 39 year old averaging 17 runs, who plays ODIs depending on his whims and how much energy he has left after performing for Mukesh and Nita Ambani.

His List A record is no better than Rahanes. Mukund will gain nothing from hammering domestic trundlers and exposure to international cricket is the only way he can develop
