What Happens If Australia Doesnt Give it Their All?

I do expect Australia to win in their own country. However I'm sure after seeing what India can down when the cards are down the thought has crossed their mind of doing everything they can not to face India. What happens if they field a B Team...no-balls ala Randiv to Sehwag etc? Hope that they've been warned ahead of the match not to try any shenigans.

Australia want to beat Sri Lanka and play India in the finals. Why would we want to play Sri Lanka in the finals when we have dominated India all summer? India are our bunnies, we want to play them any time we can, cake walk victories :)

If they don't that's their prerogative and the right they have earnt with their performances in the tourney and don't owe it to anyone for anything. If they deem fit they should try their bench strength or fancy playing SL in the finals so be it. It's our fault we didn't show up earlier and are in a position we are in. All power to Aus to do whatever they deem fit. I am just glad India showed up at least in one game and hope they have learnt a valuable lesson in being positive and carry the form in to Asia Cup.

Coz India turned the tables in their last tri-series in Aus which went the same way as this series is going :giggle:

Take India lightly to your own peril. India's batting lineup is pretty much filled with match winners. Any one batsman can turn up on the day and win the game single handedly for the team. :two_thumbs_up: If India do qualify, I dont think they will have the courage to prepare a batting track because then India will back themselves to chase any total. It will probably be one of those Aussie bouncy tracks with a lot of grass where our batsmen(or SC batsmen in general) dont do well. :nervous:

See....from what i hear most of you are saying its at Australia's discretion at not giving it their all. We've seen how Australians play in the spirt of the game for oh so long. Can someone please explain to me why no-ball Amir is such a criminal and if the Australians throw a match they are not?

Now you are talking like a Paki fan :haha: Every game which goes against India is not fixed. Aussies are professional sportspersons and will not throw or lose a match. They may try and test their bench strength, which is their prerogative, and end up losing but it won't be due to lack of effort. Anyways no point in thinking too much about something which is out of our hands as it will only lead to conspiracy theories :giggle:

How much do the players/board get paid for every win? :hmmm:
Board gets paid tour fees which should be the same regardless whether you play an extra game or two. However, players get match fees for every match played and also money for every day they spend overseas. For Indians that wouldn't be too much but for most of the Lankans barring the stars that should be quite a lot.

It wont be easy for SL to win at MCG. This was a spicy pitch with some pace and extra bounce last tine we played ODI here. MCG is one of the toughest pitch in Australia to opposing teams and Pattinson is back too.

ozzies won't throw the match. they value victories too much. and they know the importance of momentum. they'll fancy their chances against either team and would like to go in to the finals with a win behind their back.

They would try their best knowing that this is the last match before finals, and they would like to continue the form and momentum. Moreover, they'll try to avoid SL in the finals

:hysterical: They *****whopped India in 4 tests and 3 ODI's and you think they'll be scared to play India just cuz of this 1 game?
It all depends on the wicket. The Aussies will get their asses handed over to them if its a batting track. If its a green bouncy wicket, that's another matter. :winky:
