A great live example to never trust what these scambags say ... Manjrekar' date=' GC, Ian Chappell , Benaud ... they are all the same.[/quote'] cricket punditry and journalism has become so abysmal. every talking head out there is fickle and can't form an opinion that is worth giving a **** about. every comment is a reaction to the previous game/series, there is no objectivity to be seen anywhere. in that sense, cricket pundits dont differ from forum posters in the way they express their opinion on cricket. i find myself ignoring every bit of analysis out there and my interest in cricket doesn't go beyond watching games live.

jayawardenen? just running on field not makes him the best captain...dhoni has won titles and only in england' date='and australia he has lost series..[/quote'] Yes. Come to think of it, apart from Oz and England, he has not lost a test series in any other test playing nation(apart from Pakistan). But, the losses are way too big :((

when has Sri Lanka ever won a Test vs Australia? Never' date=' a big poopy never!. :giggle:[/quote'] http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/63845.html SL won the series 1-0. ironically, just after this series, indians thought that they would get AUS back on track by doing this: http://static.espncricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/1999-2000/IND_IN_AUS/SCORECARDS/ :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: make sure you look at the match v QLD :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:

So winning a test in your own country is considered as an achievement? Good!!:two_thumbs_up:

Well said. I dont know if they are simply resigned to the fact that they cant provide a decent analysis after a decade of trying and failing or whether they are pandering to the fickle fans who make up a majority of their audience or both. Its the same cliched rehashed nonsense series after series, year after year: The good thing about winning captain xyz was that he kept attacking, thats how you win matches. I thought the captaincy of losing captain abc was poor.. too defensive.. I'm sure you can make an accurate Ian Chappell or Manjrekar simulator simply by taking in the scorecards of each match in a series. The only person who writes stuff thats worth reading in cricinfo is Ed Cowan, thats about it. For a game with supposedly erudite fan base (lol), the amount of mediocre dross thats out there masquerading as insight is astounding.

^ Dhoni's test record is poor mainly due to 8-0. In ODIs if you remove BDesh (which Jaya played 8-9 times and Dhoni played once) Dhoni W/L ratio - 1.41 Mahela W/L ratio - .89

when the team wins every capt looks great...
to add...everything else goes in Gandhey ki G@*D....all these pundits will start praising Dhoni if he wins the Asia cup next week. Name a captain who won a WC or any big series with a C grade team ? All the captain talk is rubbish if your team is below average though an average side can definitely rise to occasion with a great leader. Dhoni performed great with big 3 and an average bowling attack but as soon as one of these lost the plot he was struggling to survive. A great captain in place of Dhoni would have survived a whitewash but no way this team could beat Eng in Eng.

dhoni deserves each and every criticism ,he should be hammered more But bringing culture in it is moronic.
