Was 90s ODI team better than Ganguly's ODI team ?

We won lots of tournament in 90s like : 1. Asia cup 2. Sharjah cup 3. Independence cup 4. Titan cup 5. Hero cup 6. Wills World series I can't remember any significant trophy won by Ganguly's odi team apart from natwest trophy. On the contrary we lost so many finals .

Natwest trophy is the biggest joke being propagated in Indian ODI history as some sort of achievement - it was a freaking Kitply tournament with one side which has consistently sucked in ODIs and another who can't put bat to ball away from the subcontinent.

The Natwest win gets glorified due to a couple of things: 1. Highest ever score chased in finals/in England/At Lord's/By India 2. Two newbies winning the game for us which was nearly dead

But he was great ,he was developing players at that time,so that those players become mature and win matches for some future kaptaans.Gangu basically developed talents for us,winning tournaments doesnt matter,his agggrraassssshhhiive nature was the key.

Dont think India won any ODI series at home in India let alone tournaments.

I guess apart from Ganguly's first ODI series versus South Africa in 1999-2000 we didn't win against good teams even at home including West Indies and England. He has a poor record in ODIs, even at home.

Where matters the most our record in Champions Trophy and World Cup was good under Ganguly. We won Jeet Lo Dil Series in Pakistan. Doubt 90s team could have done that.

90s was a story of subcontinental success both in ODI and Test for India but disaster outside. Ganguly's team at least started challenging strong teams like Aus and SA with decent performance in CTs and WC2003. Again 90s was so dependent on SRT (one man army) but 2000s started the trend of young turks like Yuvi,kaif,sehwag became integral part of ODI team...so I wouldn't downgrade Ganguly's team effort in any way from 90s.
