Ultimate_Game Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Even though we won the match today, I don't think we can win the tourney with the same bowling attack. kumars and Jaddu as specialist bowlers will ensure no total is safe and against likes of Ajmal/Gul/Rahman/Hafeez/Afridi/Cheema our bowling is way too weak. Rahul has to come in place of Jaddu and Vinay should be back in place of Dinda with PK replaced by Yusuf. Rahul would be a perfect foil to Ashwin and they can put pressure on batsmen during middle overs and can also bowl during powerplays. And Yusuf has to come in coz he can add depth to the batting lineup and can actually take on spinners and score quickly which Jaddu can't. And it's not as if Jaddu will trouble sub-continental teams with his spin. My team for rest of Asia Cup.... Tendulkar Gambhir Kohli Rohit Dhoni Raina Yusuf Irfan Ashwin Vinay Kumar Rahul Sharma

Dinda has to get a game in place of PK, Rahul has to come in place of Vinay and Jaddu needs to be replaced by Yusuf. India has never done well with Jaddu in the squad. We were booted out of T20 Cups without winning a game in super 6s and didn't even make it to the CB Series finals. Jaddu has to go now. He can do well against the likes of Eng, NZ or WI but against sub-continental teams he's a pie-chucker who can't bat either.

Rahul can bowl and Yusuf can bat. jaddu can do neither.

PK should make way for Dinda It's a short tourney and SRT should play against B'desh to hopefully get amongst the runs and get into some form. We shouldn't make the same mistake we did in Aus, i.e. have an unsettled opening pair & top order. There are just 3 more games to go (including final which we should reach), and let the top 3 remain as they are. If changes are to be made do it lower down the order.
Show_stopper Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Its very clear that PK is going to be a liability in this tournament. Unless he is replaced with Dinda from the next game. And yes Yusuf is worse than Jaddu when it comes to bowling and therefore shouldn't be tried. I would prefer a half decent 5th bowling option to Yusuf. If we're so worried about our batting promote Irfan ahead of Jadeja. The guy is a much more capable batsman than his brother. Not to mention Jadeja is miles better in terms of fielding.

asterix Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I really hope that PK, Jaddu be 'rested' and Dinda and Rahul Sharma/Yusuf Pathan be given chance.. Dhoni shouldn't make his own life difficult... Why does he takes so much of tension and stress, match after match? He does enjoys winning against all odds but he should really curtail this hobby of his, for his own benefit. Why to tak so much of stress? I don't think Yuchup will do any worse than Jaddu in either batting or bowling.. Ashwin is doing well and he needs good support spinner... Can't rely on Nohit's and Raina's bowling in every match..
