Do We Discourage Lethal Bowlers ?

Yadav Shami Bhuvan Zaheer / Pandey If we play this attack on the expected green tracks in South Africa, we have a very good shot at taking 20 saffer wickets and winning atleast 1 match. The first two are world-class Strike bowlers and the other two are skilled and precise, and will be difficult to handle on pitches where just being accurate may fetch you wickets. We also have a better and in-form batting line-up than the last time around. I really hope the selectors don't pick pieces of sh1t like Ishant and Vinay this time around.

The same in-form lineup was 83/5 against WI a few days back against a bunch of half-decent bowlers. The fact is our lineup is full of inexperienced noobs where Dhoni is the most experienced player. And they would be facing the best pacers in the world.

I can stick my neck out and say that India will lose 5 out of the 9 away Tests scheduled for the season. A couple of fast bowlers will return injured, and a couple of batting positions will become musical chairs.

most probably this will happen but if we find even one good fast bowler and atleast 2 good batsmen who are good neough everywhere i will be happy as future will be much better

LOL. Check out the scorecards of the 90s. We had one good fast bowler and more than 2 good batsmen. And yeah, see the series scores. :cantstop:

I'm not saying they're world-beaters but they are defo better than the line-up we carried during 0-8. I expect batsmen like Rohit and Pujara to play a few important knocks in the host of upcoming overseas tests.

You are perhaps overlooking the fact that 2 of the much derided oldies did not play the England series at home which we lost as well. That series loss hurt us equally as the whitewashes, as we are supposed to be tigers in our backyards. And we cannot say that Dhawan and Vijay overseas are a more potent overseas combination than Gambhir and Sehwag.

keep expectations in check nah.. do not expect them to score in first away tours even now do not expect miracles from any one other than pujara:winky: right now they are going to be sitting ducks.. had they played back in lat series i would have some hope :cantstop:

He may or may not succeed in the future. I am not calling him a done deal but we are on the right track at last. :two_thumbs_up:

Many Indian pacers perform better in India because they know the length to bowl here and get reverse swing too. They don't know how to bowl on bouncy tracks. This time should be no different. The same thing regarding batting applies to our young batsmen. The SAF tour is so short that there won't be much chance to adjust. Those players that have toured SAF with the A team may fare somewhat better. But, the thing is , we have choosen the correct types of players in Pujara, Kohli, Dhawan , Rohit, Shami, Umesh and BK. We should give these youngsters the proverbial long rope and let them develop their abilities outside the subcontinent. That being said, this thread is about finding lethal bowlers or what steps should be taken for finding lethal bowlers. We have taken some baby steps at last. I hope this trend continues.

These bowlers trouble the batsmen most of the times apart from taking wickets and changing a game on their own. They create a psychological pressure on the opposition.

Yeah of course we do, hear it on this site all the time as well. Sunny in last test, did an anyone hear him have a moment which summed up problem. In comm went in to one and said we need to face it that we will Never have a fast bowler and we need to focus on good length blah blah That's why we have trundlers, its all in the mind and we do our best to to discourage.
