Deleted_User_1 Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 If he fails against the Bangbros, then critics will point to his recent string of failures. If he scores his 100th ton, then critics will ridicule it as meaningless against a minnow after he could not score before given countless chances. Best thing might be to score good, but not a ton. :dontknow: In the spotlight Forget the hundredth hundred, Sachin Tendulkar was not even able to go past 50 in the CB series, and averages 18.62 in eight ODIs this year. That is the kind of poor form that should put any player under pressure to keep his place, even if it is Tendulkar. He did not look too tense at India's optional training session on Wednesday, but cannot ignore his lean run of form. Weaker opposition and familiar conditions offer perhaps his best opportunity to get a big score. He has never scored an ODI hundred against Bangladesh and will want to change that so he can go in to the high-profile match against Pakistan with some confidence. http://www.espncricinfo.com/asia-cup-2012/content/current/story/557441.html
Ultimate_Game Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 SRT should play all the matches in Asia Cup and call time on his odi career no matter how many he scores in the remaining games - either 3 ducks or 3 100s. With Dravid retired and hopefully Laxman dropped from the team he should play Tests till end of this year which can double as his farewell tour.

Ultimate_Game Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 when did that happen?? My mistake... I meant to say with Dravid retired and hopefully Laxman dropped :--D
Crookbond Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 "Australian tracks were really good for the seamers because of the extra bounce, but here [in the subcontinent] compared to other countries you have to mix it up more, bowl slower balls and use variations." R Vinay Kumar is aware India need to adapt their game quickly after three months in Australia So, Vinay Kumar has "variations". IMHO, the only thing variable about him is the RPO.

SRT will play until his ODI avg goes below 40 and test avg goes below 50..... :omg:
Mandrake Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 So' date=' Vinay Kumar has "variations". IMHO, the only thing variable about him is the RPO.[/quote'] Sure,he's got slow, slower and the express slower deliveries in his arsenal:winky:
Precambrian Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Not fair Nah.. I know he averages 18 odd from his last 8 ODIs... I know at 3, age isn;t on his side, I know one or possibly a couple more failures WILL seriously question his place in the side. But just not the way Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, probably the best ever ODI batsman, can go out. Just NOT fair. Here;s to hoping. Let the silly hundred come against Bangers don't care. But pray to god, let it come bloody soon.
vvvslaxman Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Chances are high. From what i have heard it is going to be an absolute patta.
vvvslaxman Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Don't see him getting a 100 here. He is yet to get a 100 against them.. i think some bowler has psychologically damaged him against bangaldesh in ODIs . May be this bowler? http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/66148.html
yoda Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 I think he will get his 100 here. I really hope he does cause IMO it is a meaningless stat, this 100x100 and it is better it comes against a team like Bangladesh.
