Ultimate_Game Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 Against Bangladesh if we can not defend 290' date=' there is no point in blaming batsman for that. As per matches of tournament 290 was well above par score. You can't do much when your bowlers concede three sixes and a four within span of 5-6 balls.[/quote'] Are you saying SRT's innings shouldn't get any blame? Are you saying on this pitch 100 off 140 balls is palatable?
Zelig Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Indian midget - Played for his self Bangla midget - Played for his team :beee:
Zelig Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 SRTs inning was similiar to that Warners 100 in which he batted a little slow and the total wasnt enough At last, a sensible post from you  Shame that we'd to wait for more than four years
bajrang Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 our second string bowling attack. need the munaf and khan.
CoverDrive Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 both batting and bowling has to be blamed. Last time gambhir and kohli also played slowly in first match but atleast raina and dhoni had a good hit in the end. Also no vk ;)
CG Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Are you saying SRT's innings shouldn't get any blame? Are you saying on this pitch 100 off 140 balls is palatable? Yes blame sachin but its more like 75% to our bowlers and captain and 25% sachin innings.
Raghav_12 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Yes bowling has to take the blame but surely SRT's innings was the reason we didn't put up a bigger total. Kohli almost at the same trike rate as Sachin. Raina's cameo (51 off 38) was far slow in the comparison of BanglaDeshi cameo's (49 off 31 and 46 of 25). But then you never know what a good score is while you bat first. Bowling has to take the blame.
Marut Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Tendulkar anchored the innings, why not blame Kohli, Rohit, MSD for not scoring enough?! Like the last match against SL we didnt score enough, even in that both Gambhir + Kohli played for their 100, luckily SL collapsed so it wasnt noticed. Blame has to be with the batsman, Dhoni picking Jadega who adds NOTHING, and Dinda didnt have the best debut. Sachin was 82 off 100 balls. Then he took around 40 balls to score the next 18 runs. Is that "anchoring" the innings? Ideally, he should have scored at least 40 runs during that period which included a PP. It was an absolutely selfish innings though bowlers have to take the blame as well, for not defending such a total against Bango. Who cares? All will be forgotten in a month's time when the league comes along.
Trundler27 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 sachin got what he wanted and India got what it deserved The reasons are unlimited and i'm not going to point them out coz it does not matter.... we are in a serious downward spiral and the next 3 yrs will be brutal ala west indies. I'm just hoping for a miracle of some sort to happen such that we play the following team against pakis to give us some chance of putting up a fight: Sachin, Gambhir, Kohli, Tiwary, Raina, Dhoni, Yusuf, Irfan, Ashwin, Rahul Sharma, PK
Raghav_12 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Are you saying SRT's innings shouldn't get any blame? Are you saying on this pitch 100 off 140 balls is palatable? Firstly don't distort the numbers, it is 114 off 147. Strike Rate of 77.55. Yes, in hindsight you can say he played a little slow. But then you have advantege of hindsight. Kohli also played almost at the same strike rate and Raina could not really pull off a blinder, though it was a good cameo.

A batsman is supposed to accelerate as he goes along. If a batsman is playing with a SR of 80 on 60, by the time he's on 100+ you expect the SR to be nearer 100. SRT never did anything other than get to his 100 and not giving a phuck all to the team.
Laaloo Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Well sachin fanboys got what you wanted. That 100th 100. What else do you want? :dontknow: Now we can move on from this ****
Deleted_User_1 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 REASON FOR PERFORMANCE - INDIA!!!! gayhind!!!
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 People here just seem to have lost it ' date='did not we defend 290 against lanka.[/quote'] Exactly this is a bowling failure first, not Sachin's failure!! Bring back Zak, Munaf, Abu Nechim, maybe Ishant and drop Jadega..problem solved. Kohli as mentioned batted with the same SR so shouldnt he shoulder as much blame.

But then you have advantege of hindsight. Kohli also played almost at the same strike rate and Raina could not really pull off a blinder, though it was a good cameo. It was his second slowest century. It was not a very bad innings, but the problem was that he deliberately slowed down drastically to get his century after a good start. You would expect a batsman of his calibre to acclererate towards the end, and instead there was steep deceleration as he neared the 100. But for Raina's cameo we would have reached 260 max. Was the deceleration due to terrific Bangla bowling or a tough wicket? Neither!! After reaching 80, Tendulkar set his sights only on his hundred and forgot India.
singhprakash72 Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 India's ordinary bowling attack + Dhoni's defensive mind set = Defeat.
Ultimate_Game Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 What Tendulkar did today ranks second only to what Prabhakar and Mongia did against WI when they abandoned chase and played for their not outs. SRT's legacy has taken a major hit today and this 100 will forever be remembered for how he put himself above the team.
kruiser Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 both sachin and kohli were in a shell before the batting powerplay and during it. It was obvious that Tendu had slowed down, but what happened to Kohli? And the biggest culprit is MSD.. why Jaddu was in team? And our latest pace sensation - shok danda !!!!
jairamesh Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Simple: Indian bowlers can't play cricket, it's not rocket science.
