Bangladesh are crap and do not deserve test status. Look at how well SL did when they got test status in the 80's. Bang only got win due to India not playing hard and even then, they only get the odd win in T20 and ODI before being thrashed. Ireland have more potential than Bangladesh despite limited fan base and finances.

Glad you realized it albeit a bit late!

I did realize that and was definitely impressed by their ability to not shoot themselves in the foot they used to do so often earlier. It was just that I was more disappointed with our bowling and the way Tendulkar batted. As a cricket fan you have to be pleasantly surprised by the progress B'desh has shown in this tourney so far where they should have beaten Pakistan and did a very professional job against the Indians.

As I mentioned in OP, all the players contributed and there was never a hint of nervousness/implosion. Even when the reqd RR was high the B'desh batsmen didn't throw their wkts and had a plan. They knew they could target our medium pacers, especially Dinda and had the patience to do so rather than take on Ashwin and lose wkts against him. IMO this tourney could be the moment when B'desh finally turn their fortunes around and I for one would be extremely happy as we will have another strong cricket nation which cricket desperately needs. ICC did the right thing backing B'desh even though they weren't quite ready for Tests but IMO the faith is about to pay off. The future of cricket is subcontinent and you have 160 million or thereabouts cricket loving people in B'desh. You can't turn your back on them when cricket desperately needs more cricket playing nations. As for Ireland I share your opinion regarding Ireland being backed by ICC. If I were part of ICC administration I would do whatever I could to get Ireland the odi status at the very least and also a limited Test status where they should be able to play say 5-6 Tests every year, especially against the likes of B'desh, Zim, WI, NZ and maybe one or two against Eng as well due to their proximity with Eng. Ireland has too much talent to be wasted and I don't want to see Ireland simply becoming a breeding ground for Eng team. Cricket needs as many cricket playing nations and after the WC where Ireland impressed everyone they should have become one of the elite cricketing nations. If ICC is really serious about their claim of making cricket popular and spreading the game world-wide, they have to do a much better job than what they did with Ireland. Personally I am disappointed with BCCI not backing Ireland as it would have been a perfect opportunity for BCCI to show leadership and make their clout do something good for the game. I hope ICC can come to its senses and brings Ireland to the cricket mainfold soon.

We failed to bat B'desh out of the game when we had the opportunity knowing fully well our bowling is the weakest of all the Test playing nations and probably weaker than some of the associate nations (e.g., Ireland).

with the inclusion of jaharul and nasir our batting is certainly much better now and i hope tamim continue his cool approach and dont throw his wicket away like he used to do before. it looks like players now know what is their role in the team and they have a certain plan. sometimes you will be able to excute the plan sometimes wont like they won against india but failed against pak. but wat i did like is in both games top order and also middle order played with a purpose and they sticked to their plan and didnt crumble under pressure or throw their wicket away in cluster. i think the way bangladesh chased 290 yesterday was epic and is the right approach to win matches. i hope they dont let down against srilanka and finish the tournament with high note even if they lose

instead of POKING at them, if I was in your place I would ZIP it and STFU after not even being able to defend 290. Scoring 290 is not a walk in the park for any team! If you haven't realised, after our big boys retires, all this crap players who filled in for the rested players will take over our team and quite frankly that worries me a lot. Bout time we start looking at the mirror before poking at others ... EVEN ZIM will start to woop our behind preety soon!
