Ultimate_Game Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 I don't think we have given enough credit to B'desh for winning the game against India in the Asia Cup. They had lost there opening game against Pakistan from a winning position so they must have been a bit down. On top of that India put up a formidable score (289) which is not an easy task in a must-win game no matter how poor the bowling. Chasing creates its own pressure especially when target is high and it's a must-win game. B'desh batted calmly and I was impressed with what I saw. They definitely have improved and at no point did they self-destruct which was a hallmark of previous B'desh teams. They didn't even let the unlucky Shakib dismissal get in their way of the win. Every batsman did his job and played as per the situation, be it Tamim, Jahurul, Nasir Hossain, Shakib or the captain Mushfiqur Rahim. I was especially impressed by Nasir Hossain who is a real talent and has shown why youngsters like him need to be selected ahead of the likes of Ashraful. And as for Shakib, he is definitely one of the best all-rounders in the world and probably the best one from the subcontinent. Congratulations Bangladesh team and fans :hatsoff: You deserved the win and were the better side. Hoping that this win will turn the B'desh fortunes around and they will improve the way Lankans did in mid 90s as the world cricket definitely needs as many stronger cricket nations as possible. Once again hearty congratulations from Indian fans.
maniac Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Yes,Definetely a sensible post and well played Bangladesh and also nice to see you give credit were due. I expected this thread to have content more on lines of this 'win was gifted to them by SRT'
zep1706 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Yes they hung in there and when the bowlers started to deliver pies, cashed in. Now they have a real chance to be in the final. If India don't beat Pakistan by a bonus point they just need to win the match against the Lankans and if India lose to Pak they can still get in even if they lose the next game if they don't concede a bonus point.

zep1706 Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 If India dont win..Bangladesh are through even if they lose to Lanka Not if Lanka beat them by a bonus point, then Lanka will go in.
Zero_Unit Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Yes rightly said, all credit goes to BD today for a promising show. I'm more excited bout them showing promises. One more stronger nation from ASIA and you know it looks good for the subcontinent. Sometimes in the near future Afganistan will be placed among these 4 nations.
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Not if Lanka beat them by a bonus point' date=' then Lanka will go in.[/quote'] true. sab bonus ke liye ladenge

10sion Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Thank You. This does give India-Pakistan match a lot of meaning, instead of being a dead rubber. Expecting India to win quite easily especially if they chase.
jairamesh Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 Though really p!ssed at our pop-gun bowling attack. Watching the match on TV as Bangladesh chased down the target and the emotions and ruptures of fully packed stadium was exhilarating. Amazing atmosphere. Only in Asia. Oh and a dig at Test match: You will never provide such emotions and exhilaration to the masses.
