Very similar players..Elegant ,brash ... Though Kp is better at the moment ,he has a lot of issues running round..The country switch wasn't a good decision imo..Kohli willl surly leapfrog him.

Too young to judge in Tests. But in ODIs, Kohli full stop. Pietersen only delivers when the chips are down, hopeless at chasing big totals, and contrary to his "aggressive approach", he is rather one paced in ODIs and slow by today's standard. Remember he was so hopeless at ODIs over the last two-three years, only the after Ashes, the management had to promote him to open where he was less of a liability and play risk free cricket. Kohli along with Amla, Sanga, Clarke, Dhoni, Hussey and AB De Villiers are currently the best ODI players. Kohli and AB De Villiers have the edge over the others in terms of their ability to chase big totals, play long innings and accelerate.

Sanga does not belong there. He makes 90 ball 60s far too often and has a **** conversion rate for someone who bats at 3. Not a great career s/r either.

By the way these comparison threads are being rolled out (Kohli vs Bradman/AB DeVillers, Kevin Pietersen, Randy Orton!), we will soon have Kohli compared to Lionel Messi, Ian Thorpe, Lance Armstrong, Mike Tyson too.

True, I just whizzed thru the current top 10 odi rankings, and Sanga fulfilled my sixth choice, purely for aesthetics reasons, enjoy his shot-making. The other option was between Dilshan  or Watson, both whose role is slash and play risk free without really judging match situation, both would struggle imo to regularly chase big scores. (but apparently Watson has the best average:hmmm: when chasing, Kohli is second). I would lump the likes of Dilshan, Watson, Pietersen, Sehwag together as ideal "roll the dice" option.
