Old guy Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 again dont try to put words in my mouth ... but pls do try to tell me how our bowling has been able to defend such scores on most occasions against better teams. they bowled better? just like on most occasions tendulkar batted better? simple ?:--D anyway im not even blaming him for loss it was the combination of bad bowling and stupid captaincy thing is i dont have much problem with that innings people make mistakes..play badly soem times wt i have problem is with people like u saying it was good enough innings and justifying it when u have cahnce to get 330 u dont think 270 is enough thats not how teams bat
Old guy Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 why don't you show me the post where I said this ? then what are u trying to prove? :cantstop: dont tell me ur replying to that most disgraceful thread or anything cos if ur smart nough u will know that people who think like that will never agree with u why waste time ? :P
germanrotweiler Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Mushfiqur Rahim wasgoing to target our bowlers.. not our batsmen.. doesn't that tell you.. our bowling sucks all the time. Even with zaheer we allowed England to make 338. On subcontinental pitches our bowling always sucks. Only strength is to bat the opposition out. We were in tremendous position to do that. We let it go... Our bowlers get lucky once in a while like defending 303 successfully :cantstop: . This is a third string bowling attack.. not even second string attack.. When ever our first string itself sucks it is foolish to expect a lot from third string bowlers. Same with BD batting line up it was 3rd rate..how many time have you seen BD chasing a score over 290 against a test playing nation bar ZIM... Sachin did slow down for his 100 but you jsut can't blame him entirely on the loss now can we after we saw the way Pak defended 235.... Cheema and Gul are avg bowlers as well in LOI format, just sightly better than Indian bowlers... And we had the safety of an extra 50 runs as well...

From that point if you can't cross 300, there is something wrong. If your team can rack up 330 against the same Pakistan bowling.. why not you can rack up 300 against a much poorer Bangladesh attack. Also frankly it is laughable to equate our batting strength on a flat pitch to our bowling strength on a flat pitch. Tendulkar takes the major blame because he halted the innings for far too long. From 30th over till 43rd over India posted 74 runs. That was until Sachin got 100.. As soon as he got to 100, he was going for 4s.. Couldn't he do that in 40th over ignoring his 100 for a moment? to move from 78 to 100 he needed 13 overs against a poor attack.. IN between a maiden over against trundler like Mashrafe.
vvvslaxman Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Yeah given how you have never questioned the resident Mr. Integrity and doggedly arguing for the sake of arguing by making outrageous claims it tells me on which side of the fence you are . I only respond to those who disagree with my points. :cantstop: .
Old guy Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 which is why Iam saying that you and the lizard man are no different when it comes to selectively calling certain innings as being disgracefull. You are no different from the troll. which lizard ? in or out ? :hysterical:

The reason he must have paused was because of the stress then Entire world has put on him for his 100th 100 he is a human after all and must have felt it against BD.... And raina too was not striking it big even though he had a SR of more than 100 for that game... when tendu paused raina should have gone after with all guns blazing instead he just looked for one big shot per over...E ven virat for that matter played out an Maiden over at a crucial time.... Our bowlers are brought up on those flat tracks.. at least they should have defended a score above 290 against a minnow team

velu Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 And Velu he lost mind games to the critics? What kind of selfish, shameless, traitors want to play mind games with the players of their own country and laugh when he is affected? Pakistan se kitne paise milte hai in logo ko? Err .. not everyone will have the same view abt sachin.. any sane cricket follower knows sachin cost us the game , and sachin deserves to be criticized ..
germanrotweiler Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Err .. not everyone will have the same view abt sachin.. any sane cricket follower knows sachin cost us the game , and sachin deserves to be criticized .. Trundler lost us the game not anyone else velu.. mushiqur rahim down on one knee and hitting pathan like a spinner for 6 shows how pathetic our bowling was tht night

yoda Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 The innings is a disgraceful moment in Indian cricket because: 1. A batsman deliberately slowed down throughout his innings to ensure his milestone against a mediocre bowling unit when we had like 8 wickets in hand. 2. He did not slowdown to save a game or ensure a series win for the team, rather to ensure his own personal milestone. And criticizing his one innings is fair game. All players have been criticized for various innings they have played throughout their career. Just having the name SRT doesn't make you immune from any criticism. Some of you worship and consider yourself unworthy of writing anything against him, doesn't mean everyone needs to lick his boots like some of you.

Our bowling was good enough to win us matches against a team like BD no matter how flat the pitches are...for gods sake our bowlers play most of their ranji and all other domestic touneys in pitches that are flat.... they should have been able to restrict BD to250... PS; Velu do you get who i am :--D

yoda Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 :hysterical: oh now did he slowed down throughout his innings??? this is news for me... so if he did being the SR down we ended up with a match winning score that would have wouns us against a minnow team.... if hafeez could bowl at 3 RPO ashwin should have done the same... Are you denying he intentionally batted below his own level that innings to ensure his 100x100 against a mediocre team?
germanrotweiler Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Are you denying he intentionally batted below his own level that innings to ensure his 100x100 against a mediocre team? He never slowed down until he reached 90 mate..... and he had every rite to slow down when he reached closer to his 100
yoda Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 He never slowed down until he reached 90 mate..... and he had every rite to slow down when he reached closer to his 100 58/75, 74/93, 83/114, all being 1 down. It's his worst SR knock (SR got better after his 100 ofc) in more than 10 years and came against the mighty Banglas. Coincidence? Without Raina's knock, it wouldn't even have come to the last few overs. Anyways, IMO, he is the greatest ODI player ever, but I have no problems criticizing his few innings here and there while heaping praises when he does well.
