germanrotweiler Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 58/75, 74/93, 83/114, all being 1 down. It's his worst SR knock (SR got better after his 100 ofc) in more than 10 years and came against the mighty Banglas. Coincidence? Without Raina's knock, it wouldn't even have come to the last few overs. Anyways, IMO, he is the greatest ODI player ever, but I have no problems criticizing his few innings here and there while heaping praises when he does well. Ok you do have a point, but pinning the whole thing on Tendu slowing down for his 100 is BS.. these are some of the points most Anti sachin fans who tend to ignore for the sake of it 1)Rohit sharma coming out to bat in front of I.pathan especially with 3 overs or so remaining was not a wise movie those 6 balls sharma faced he only scored 4..Pathan might have scored more.. 2)I still don't understand why you don't point fingers at our bowlers Especially the experience they have playing in IPL their death bowling should have been better instead of bowling full tosses down the leg side which i say are almost like free hits.. And pakistans LOI bowlers bar ajmal are just AVG cheema and Gul but both helped them win a match each against BD when Pak defended a moderate score 3 kohli and his SR it was almost at par with Tendu, he should have tried to up the ante Instead of playing dot balls and loking for singles...
yoda Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 you have a funny way of looking at things ... what you conveniently forget is that the inngs that allowed RD to play like that was the inngs by SRT ... do you really really think SRT cannot play like what Dravid did in that match ? Or do you really think RD is capable of playing like SRT against that bowling in a truly gut wrenching pressure match like that one while batting up the order ? It is SRT who is the bigger team player for taking the risks to make sure that the rest of the batting has time on hand to bat normaly. He does this on a daily basis which is why his SR is in a different zip code than RDs while not compromising on the Average. Don't act like a coward hiding amongst the mob and taking pot shots at a once in a life time legend because he took 2 more overs against the mighty bangles in a match which would have been forgotten by now had SRT decided not to play in the series ( talk about cricket bigger than player lol ) . Answer is NO and NO for both. They both play their parts very well, except when personal agenda causes a little rift. If SRT can play patiently, he would have added much longer knocks in tests than he has shown the temperament for. That is a fact, he is no RD in the patience department. Same with RD, he can accelerate and has done so on occasions, but he is no SRT. I have never questioned SRT's greatness as a ODI player. No one in their right mind would claim RD was a better ODI player than SRT. Similarly most non biased fans would say that RD has been the better test player and overall the edge goes to SRT simply because of the combined performances.
SachDan Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 dude whats this "sachinista" claptrap all about ? Am I supposed feel offended by your usage of this new word ? :cantstop: A term coined by his paki dosts for Sachin's fans. Trollvelu and his ilk believes addressing this way will help rile up us, Sachin fans :giggle:

OTH, you can't just blame the bowlers and claim they had enough. Yes it would have been enough, only if it had been. :winky:
germanrotweiler Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 How can we pin the whole loss on him when our bowlers sucked as well? OTH' date=' you can't just blame the bowlers and claim they had enough. Yes it would have been enough, only if it had been. :winky:[/quote'] we scored just 15 runs more against SL and our bowler defended it against an In form sl batting line up and you are telling me 290 was not enough against a minnow team
yoda Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 we scored just 15 runs more against SL and our bowler defended it against an In form sl batting line up and you are telling me 290 was not enough against a minnow team Each game is different, we need to maximize our performance when we bat or bowl no matter who the opponent is. When you play a minnow, you wack the cr@p out of them if you bat first.
yoda Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 why are you bringing in Tests while discussing ODIs ... ? And whats this personal agenda thingy you talk about as though it is a regular affair but completely ignore the regular affair that used to transpire when Dravid batted in ODIs hogging strike and completely ruining momentum on numerous occasions ? If that isnt selfish then what is ? Tests came into pic cause you claimed SRT can bat with the patience of a RD if he wanted to. Just because your SR is lower doesn't make you a selfish player, then by that token everyone is selfish when compared to great one and only ever young Lala. :giggle:
yoda Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 yeah but why dont you tell us how this bijiness of maximization was carried out effectively when your fav player was in the team for a small matter of 344 ODIs ? Yes, he gave his 100%, no slowing down for personal records. No, he is not my fav ODI player. :winky:

Am I supposed feel offended by your usage of this new word ? :cantstop: err .. you dont need to get offended .. its to differentiate between normal sachin fans and hard core sachin fans who defend sachin for everything :hatsoff:
velu Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 dont know why sachinstas are bringing in dravid here , even though sachin is a selfish player he is still a better ODI player than dravid

germanrotweiler Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Slowing down and talking about Dravid .... isnt that the default factory setting ? :hysterical::hysterical: Epic Pwnage
vvvslaxman Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 From a prophetic statements like "our bowling always sucks" to this face saving retreat. Enjoyed it. So whole idea is to win an internet battle not seeing a selfish innings as selfish innings.. You see what you want to see.
