If players struggle to get rid of it (easier said than done) coach has to step in. Knowing is one thing. Implementing is another.
true but clearly whole attitude of team is that they are unlucky.. u cant improve like that just see gauti's reaction.. scoring ton in subcontinent.. like he did something gr8 or proved every one wrong.

Really at a loss to understand what more critics expected out of Kirsten's tenure (yeah all of three years) as national coach. Within that time he : 1. Saw India getting the top test ranking 2. Take the World Cup 3. Maintain the ranking for 22 months Not sure there is anything more a coach could be expected to do.

India had a strong warning in English tour. So they should have been thoroughly prepared. Duncan had already tasted 8 losses as coach in Australia prior to this tour. This is not the great Australian side that ruled in the 2000s. After all New zealand comfortably beat them in one of the test and drew the series prior to Indias visit. This is the side that got shout out for totals like 47, 88 in recent times. I never imagined India would lose worse than they did in England. India is in transition phase now. There are lot of tough calls that need to be made. I don't think this old fat buffoon is going to do anything sitting there. Just get rid of him.. and hire someone else.

Players win you matches and lose you,But you can build for the future ,During kirsten time we lost all major icc tournaments and most odi tournaments away ,In tests we toured nz and sa . Problems were still there our bowling was weak ,we bought back nehra instead of giving chance to a youngster ,brougth back dravid for a series.

world cup win, world no.1 ranking >>>>>>>than any of the lows you mentioned. Those T20 losses atleast one loss was due to pathetic IPL scheduling.

I am not really going to go into how much percentage his contribution towards our losses. All we know for sure is this idiot should be the first to go before we discuss about players. We already do it on the side.

If we are happy with performance at home ,fletcher has white washed eng and won series against wi,The point is kirsten did not build for the future and onky firing duncan will do nothing unless we fire all of them. First the captain second the chief selector third the coach.

Didn't we win CB series last time with a rookie team under kirsten? Australia had a much better side then.

Rajput was the coach then' date='His first official assignment was in india against sa.[/quote'] Even then.. in SA India drew the test series for the first time in history, won in NZ a test series first time in years, won ODI series in years. Duncan Fletcher was supposed to have the inside out knowledge about English conditions . Ironcially we lost very very badly like never before.

Mate tbh, we won the only ODI series that counts really... I really dont give much to meeaningless ODI series and imho T20s are excellent entertainment, but best exp at club level...

That is the responsibility of coach too. Why a guy like Gauti keep poking outside the off stump even though it was a disaster waiting to happen. He never did this frequently before IPL. Even if he had picked this up in T20 games... he should have made the adjustment. If he kept doing, it is coach's job to help him get rid of the habit. Very teeny weeny things like this can make a great overall change to how they approach an innings as a team. Even tiny bit of improvement from everyone could have gone a long way. After that abandoned chase.. lost everything in England, Failed to whitewash windies at home, lost mostly in OZ, knocked out from Asia cup, lost the solitary T20 in SA.. that is some impressive record. You could find lot of reasons why Kirsten could have been retained.. but you cannot find one reason why we should persist with Fletcher. Even under chappell our record was not this bad. India had never lost a test series in England for 15 years until this humiliation.
Just a point - Gambhir has this technical issue with him throughout his FC career. I'm not defending Fletcher here. But, what is to know he hasn't told Gautam about it?

But' date=' what is to know he hasn't told Gautam about it?[/quote'] No.. this has become far more prevalent even when slips are stationed only after this IPL. He had tightned his game enoromously. Especially during his 179 against England he left numerous balls much like he did during his century in NZ. He had become really solid. Oflate he has been very loose. That is only one part of the issue with Fletcher.. there seems to be distinct lack of everything from the Indian side since he took over.

And he has again gone loose? What is to know that Fletcher has told him about this and he's unable to adapt? It's very difficult for an outsider to point a finger at any cricket coach IMHO.

Not that hard . Just look at the state of INdian cricket. Even a rebuilding side and perennially poor travellers like Sl did better than "No.1 ranked" side India in England and Australia. One spineless performance after another. If this is what India can produce under him, they might as well go without coach.
