We can't have extreme reactions. Coach sacking theory is almost like Pakistan. Lose 2 series sack coach, lose 1 sack captain. Stability is an important factor. Let Fletcher finish his term, in most likelihood he will.

Actually I completely agree with Shane warne at best of times. Here, we are talking about Dhoni and Indian cricke team. A captain who has just gone from average to really bad tactically. A team which really doesn't seem to give a **** anymore and way too many distractions outside cricket. So, IMO a coach's role is critical. For an all time great Aussie side, probably not.

Kirsten may have done a few things right, but his role in our team's successful run is overrated. India piled up a lot of victories at home on its way to no. 1. We did not play too many strong teams outside the subcontinent to know how we would have fared under Kirsten. And oh, India was emerging to be a top ODI side even before Kirsten took over and the fact that the world cup was played in the subcontinent helped us further. One thing I'd credit Kirsten for is that he was extremely smart. He knew how to survive in our cricketing setup. He understood the mistakes Chappell made and played along with our cricketers. He knew world cup victory is the pinnacle for every team/coach. His market rate was soring. He left at the right time. If he really wanted to spend time with his family as he stated, he should have taken a break from coaching, instead he took on the role to coach a stronger team that will only further enhance his credentials. As for the player comments on Kirsten, what do you expect the players to say after a world cup win ? Every player dreams to get there and obviously they are gonna say great things about the coach and the support staff, on the occassion of their lifetime. In today's cricket, players know that there will be a coach that they will have to deal with. Bitten by Chappell, our cricketers prefer a coach who is less interfering and more tolerant of the team and dressing room culture. They will accept any coach who does not mess with them. Results are a bonus.

His focus was always on making a stable bowling line up and stable batting line up and them start working with those group of guys. He had the guts to speak against what is wrong and what are the things that he requires. Though, I wont blame on Fletcher for all the debacle that has happened in the recent past, coz its the players who seems to have become bigger than the team. One thing is for sure, that there is something defintely wrong in our team. But, yet I have not heard Fletcher raising his voice against anyone or anything.

But I think, what helped Kirsen was a Big Common goal in front of him which was Being No 1 side in test and Winning WC. And he took steps in that direction. While Kirstens tenure I read a lot of people talk about goals. This was our goal....that was our goal etc. The current situation does not reflect that. It seems like we are going match by match. There is no targeted goal. So a lot of people get caught in now. There does not seem to be future view. By future view, I do not mean to say bringning in youngsters all the time. By future view, I mean to say, resting players, changing the order to see who fits where. Talking to people etc.
