Ishant should have been dropped instead. I don't know what the selectors see in him to be selected for 46 tests despite failing consistently. Also Mishra should've been picked instead of Chawla. He the better legspinner.

Him too. Has Shewag and SRT both stopped bowling now as well? If not Dhoni should have bowled both particularly Shewag to break Englands rhytham.

Do you guys know the reason our spinners and pacers were unable to pick wickets? Dhoni. If Dhoni puts all the fielders on the boundary in a Test match, and we give away easy singles, do you think anybody will be able to pick up wickets (unless the batsman makes silly shots like our Indian heroes)? I guarantee you, if Dhoni was to captain the English side, their bowlers would be in a similar position as ours. However, I'm NOT in anyway suggesting that our bowlers were not pathetic.

I think Dhoni is mentally preparing for IPL 6. I think that should help Chennai to make it to the finals again. IPL Auction coming up as well. I don't know why Dhoni even wants to play tests. He should just play ODIs and T20s. Nobody would blame him. He can make money in IPL. All Chennai fans would be happy and so would be Srinivasan. He has nothing of Test Cricket in him. When you look at him you don't feel that it hurts him when India loses. He is absolutely nothing of a captain in the field. Does nothing to inspire the team. Look at Cook and look at Dhoni. And the story is clear.

Dhoni could do with losing some weight certainly. He doesn't exactly look like an athlete at the moment.
Still the fittest among the seniors. Fastest between the wickets.

Dropping Zak was ok i guess because he wasn't bowling much and he wasn't threatening at all. My biggest problem is that this piece of crap selection comm has not changed one bit (look at the t20 squad) from bloody srikanth's group. Plus all the big rascal losers in the batting line-up got thru for the 4th game Indian cricket will remain on a down trend for sure even if this sorry team competes in nagpur

More than dropping....one should see it as rest. Clearly Zak is our frontline bowler but unfortunately he isn't among best of its fitness & form. Probably a few matches in First Class will help him to regain his form so that he could come handy in the incoming series.

Hopefully it won't be rank turner from day one in which case match becomes a lottery, and England will have a better chance due to their fielding abilities. I hope it is a pitch similar to Kolkota , I still believe that we have better talent , man to man, when compared to England, and India could pile up a huge score in the first innings. That's our best chance for equalizing.

England will be pleased if it turns- batsmen coming back into form and Ashwin doing not very much. They'll back Swann and Panesar to bowl India out twice- maybe bring in Tredwell as a 3rd specialist spinner as well in place of Patel.
