Tendulkar's unseemly media blitz

Yep, top article Also let's not forget that Tendulkar's records also help balm the feeling of those who dreamed of being peles, maradonas, etc. So records become more important than team's cause at times. FTR, 100 th 100 is NOT a genuine record but the corporates in Ind would not stop at milking it, much like SRT's 100 th 100. This(personal milestones > team) is one of the sad stories of sports in Ind

It is a very well written article. It is OK to criticize SRT.
It's also okay to critize an article, if you feel an article is written just to grab some headlines.

The less I hear/read about Tendulkar these days the better. The guy has proven that he is still playing just to collect more records. His recent press conferences are just a confirmation of that attitude.

don't worry he ain't aiming for your heroes Strike rate record or no.of balls faced in Test match cricket ... that one is his to keep :nice:
As long as he is ensuring we lose matches while he gets his records and manages to keep new players out of the team while continuing his selfish pursuits, I know his agenda is on track. :winky:

One of the better articles I have read regarding Tendulkar. Author seems to be one of the few who has the balls to call spade a spade. Good to know there are a few who did feel Tendulkar's individual objective(s) over the last year were divergent from the team's.

Well he has summarized nicely what all the non-bkaths have been saying on this board. May be he is one of us? :winky:

To a point! He captured the media blitz around the 100th 100 where loss to B'desh and team's ouster from Asia Cup weren't even mentioned. That 100 was celebrated as if the 100 helped us win the World Cup :omg: On top of that Tendulkar's insistence he's top of his game and at his peak even though he has been nothing but mediocre over the last year. And the final point where he hardly showed up at any of the interviews/media interactions when the team was getting owned. As soon as he got his 100th 100, even though it cost the team the match, he was back in the limelight. I just hope Tendulkar had his pound of flesh already with the 100th 100 fiasco and the team doesn't have to suffer anymore

Yep' date=' we covered them all. :two_thumbs_up:[/quote'] Methinks SRT will go on for another 2 years at home piling cheap runs on featherbeds and when it comes the time to tour away against SA/Eng/Aus he will quit and team will be left holding the can :((

Nah, I don't think he is the one who chickens out of important tours, however when he will retire is anyone's guess. For me, I would rather enjoy his good ODI knocks where is still great (barring the 100x100 aberration). Regarding tests, this team is anyways going through a rebuilding phase and it is going to be painful unless we start seeing some new blood in place of guys like SRT, Laxman and even Sehwag. Even then, the cup board is very bare in terms of bowling.
