It was the same case throughout the 90s. Check the 1994 series which included an Zimbabwe, Australia A and B team, if I'm not mistaken.

Generally the PM's match is really up and coming players, unlike the A team which is the next rung of players. There have been some awesome PM's matches over the years.

It is fun to see scorecards in matches like this......Always thought Bevan would have made a better test cricketer and Blewett a better ODI cricketer but funny to see how differently their careers turned out.

Pretty sure I have the PM's match from 1985 when India toured. Of course the most famous one is the one in 1984 when Boon scored a ton vs West Indies, and was put straight into the test team, and an aussie legend was born.
