Atleast for this IPL players should allowed as Mumbai Indians succesfully won one review or else it will become unfair.... from next IPL we have to see how things go

They can't. But in a domestic league expect pompous ar**h**es to take full advantage and a lax BCCI to watch on silently. Unless BCCI takes stern action, there will always be those who think at-least in domestic games that they are above the system. And yes persuasion of umpires can be done a more social manner. There was absolutely no need for Harbajan and Munaf to get so animated.

From umpiring to conduct of the players,it was all rubbish .Umpire should have asked the 3rd umpire in the first place because bails were disturbed ,but what happened after that was equally sick .

A tweet from IPL CEO Sundar Raman ‏ @ramansundar Lot of comments about the on field incident. The match officials have the responsibility and know what to do. They will do what's right Don't be surprised to see a heavy fine or even a ban on both Bhajji and Munaf.

From time immemorial' date=' even before DRS was invented, I have always seen such decisions(bowled or stumped) go to the third umpre[/quote'] Of the course the decision should have gone to the third umpire in the first place, and it was a crappy decision But the way Bhajji and Munaf behaved with the umpire was disgraceful. No reason why they couldn't have asked the decision to be referred in a more dignified way.

Right thing was done. Umps should refer such close calls, so Bambis asked them to. It was not a DRS referral, more of a "Hey bozos do your fecking job and refer it if you are clueless". So the players did the umps job of initiating a referral.

Both players will face the consequences..What they did was wrong. I think the MI team is under lot's of pressure. The expectations are high, the team is more hyped than the substance..Bhajji too is under lot's of pressure after their loss against PWI... Finally, both Bhajji & Munna are certified hotheads..Their facial expressions also doesn't help. It was wrong on the part of the MI staff to 'relay the message' after checking the replays... I think the MI staff are more responsible for what happened. The players would've got on with the decision but they were 'relayed a message' by the MI staff... This 'onfield umpire's decision' is the real bone of contention...I think the 3rd umpire should've powers to 'intervene' and put things right, overruling the onfield umpires decision. This should be in DRS also...

They started politely, but nothing was happening, so they started demanding that it be referred. Unfortunately only acting disgraceful works in some instances.

it was the umpire's fault. they were fuc**ng adamant not to check with the 3rd umpire so they deserved all the abuse they got. fu** with all this spirit of the game and fairplay crap if the umpires act like egoistic morons when they have technology avalible at their fingertips and they refuse to use it.

not by players' date=' however umps can always refer.[/quote'] Oh ok. Seems a bit unfair IMO coz they can refer some decisions and not others which may end up favoring some team(s). Better to have a rule in place and give 2 reviews per side. It would be a nice way for BCCI and players to get used to DRS as well coz let's face it - DRS is here to stay and sooner or later BCCI will need to embrace it. And any world cup will have the system in place so why not embrace it :dontknow:

Irrespective of whether it was IPL or other international game, what these two have done is outright way OTT. We have seen worse than this. Now umpires did not refer it is definitely an issue but for no possible reason these two should have crossed the line and behaved in a disgraceful manner. Shame bhajji. I can understand Munna doing it but captain shouldn't.

Should players be allowed to force umpires into a review when there is no DRS in place?
No. They shouldn't be allowed to affect umpire's decision. If umpires can't do it on their own they should be sacked. What if a player starts forcing umpires in case of obvious LBW mistakes? Where will it end? Players' behavior was absolutely disgraceful. Wasn't there big inside edge and umpire still gave batsman out LBW in an IPL game few days ago? We didn't see players acting like this and forcing umpire to change the decision. If would be even more disgraceful if no action is taken against players.

Where was this attitude when this team was playing in England? What about Broad's hattrick? Bhajji was 2nd batsman to be out and he clearly edged the ball. Do you think that he could have done same thing there also? Players acted like this only because of pressure of winning or maybe they know that nothing can happen to them in an IPL game.
