Seriously why blame IPL?

When did that happen in T20 since IPL? Explain the shellacking we received in the last world T20s.
Ahh, so India loses any type of match (test, ODI, T20) blame IPL. And if India wins any test match or ODI, then IPL is irrelevant as it is only T20 should be considered. Great Logic. Remember playing IPL does not guarantee the team will win the world cup. If that was the case, wonder if Australians blame Big Bash for their failures since it started?

What the heck is IPL for then? Losing every single game in first round and getting eliminated? What is the use other than watching glorified net practice from world super stars. IPL is alive and kicking thanks to mainly foreign international players. I am glad Aussie coaches are really exploiting it to the hilt by bringing in some ordinary uncapped players from their country. Dan christian is having a ball out there with a million dollar a year.

You have not answered it at all. Using your logic, I would say Big Bash needs to be stopped as well. You clearly have no idea about cricket or even common idea if you believe IPL is the reason for all the failures.

One i posted was Kirsten's mention of fatigue. It is quiet a long tournament compared to big bash. Big bash had only about 31 games. IPL 2012 has 76 games.

Seems like you have forgotten you own logic. Let me help you... What is Big Bash doing? The Australian team has been terrible, they failed in the world cup and lost the Ashes. What is the use of Big Bash when the national team is failing and struggling. Yet, I never hear that from the Aussies, but unfortunately here we are with some Indians arguing how they hate their own product, IPL.

I am not an Australian fan. Don't care if Australia sucks or not due to Big bash. . I only care about Indian cricket. Fact that you want to call a competition a product underlines the value of IPL. It is all about money, glitz. That's it. It is going to result in lot of players settling for life after couple of international matches. Nobody will have real motivation. India's reach to no.1 rank was due to some already established test players. IPL is successful because owners are throwing in millions of dollars and BCCI is running it as a circus. Not because it produces high quality cricket.

You do realize that there is a reason why Aussies do not need to criticize Big Bash, that reason is because they know more about professional cricket and offer less knee jerk reactions. Unfortunately the same cannot be applied here, with supporters like you who go mad in any loss and then suddenly start cursing IPL out of nowhere. Fact is you are not mature enough if you believe that. And mind you cricket itself is a product and also cricket is no charity, you need money to sustain it. You simply cannot dislike any event when money is needed to sustain it.

So when do the players rest? With the IPL...their time for rest and recuperation is no more. Just worried about their fitness and fatigue factor.

So you need maturity to understand the "value" of IPL. :cantstop: What a load of crap. IPL as a "product" is successful. Will stay here for a while. There are 3 or 4 million viewers for Kim Kadrashaian show also. A stupid show like that have sustained for 6 seasons. Why not IPL. It will run for some more time. But don't sell me that IPL is the greatest thing after a slice of bread that will help Indian cricket achieving great heights. I know what it is. I know what it brings to Indian cricket and what it doesn't.

Really, so it is mature for you to put all the blame of IPL?:hysterical: And please stop insulting the audience, you do not have any rights to teach them on how you believe cricket should be played.

Same to you. India's untimely scheduling of IPL caused fatigue and resulted in India fielding bunch of sleep walkers on the field, it caused players missing out on test series in the pretext of rest, injury, it cause under preparation for an important tour not to mention Indian players didn't even have time to cherish the memory of world cup win. Within one week they were against each other. So please stop preaching about IPL plus points which has none except some time pass where some sixes and fours can be seen against Indian trundlers .

You are wasting everybody time if you intend to teach us on how cricket should be played and what type of cricket is time pass. And cherish the memory of world cup win? Really, you wanted them to take break from cricket for years so they could all remember their last game as the WC win and cherish it longer. Everybody is a professional and they all move on after every success or even failure.

I watch street cricket also. Guys who play with tennis ball. Watch exhibition match also. Just like that it is a circus match i watch. Don't take it seriously and root for any team. You are the one who opened this thread. If you are going to ignore detractors and if you believe there are no detractors you wouldn't have opened a thread like this. You wanted answers. You got it.

Unfortunately, despite starting the discussion about IPL, you have started the discussion on superior supporter and trying to prove you superior you are as you know more about cricket and can ultimately decide what type of cricket is time pass or circus. It is never about superior fans as everyone has their equal say. Unfortunately again, you have been unable to comprehend that.

Reduce the number of meaningless bilateral ODI series. Limit to just tri series and multi team tourneys. I want the players to be fresh for the IPL as well. :dontknow:

Do you folks seriously believe that IPL has not brought about a more casual approach to how someone like Sehwag* approaches international matches? Pls answer this, as well as pls go through or answer the questions in: http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=211643 *Not to pick him among others, but just an example
Sehwag has approached every game casually, whether it is IPL or a WC game. That's just the way it is. Did RD change his approach to tests cause of IPL?

That should be done regardless of the IPL. The thing is, IPL has its good and bad points...at the moment I am leaning towards more bad than good. Firstly, the BCCI 'seems' to give IPL more importance than international cricket and so are some of the players. Examples are Sehwag, Gambhir with their injuries in the previous IPL...they played while being injured. While Sehwag had to postpone his surgery until his team was out. The moment DD were out of the tournament...he flew out the next day for surgery. Anyways, IPL should get rid of the glitz and glamour...improve pitches...stop bringing in the ropes with every edition and make sure that international cricket is given the most importance.

You are the one who labelled it as "product" not a competition not me.
