And guess what happened, retention policy was implemented despite not having the majority. That was a totally bias and incorrect decision. So I expect some thing everytime with IPL, whatever those 2 teams say CSK and MI will likely be followed the IPL body.

Each team has invested so much on players, how do they earn it back? How does the IPL finance work? DO teams make profit if every 2 years they have to re-spend money on buying bunch of players? Is it profitable owning an IPL team? :hmmm: Only SRK seems to be earning profits... dont think Ambani cares... what about the others?

This method by no means will generate any loyalty. If the teams want to earn profit, they should improve their scouting and not pay excessive to some terrible players. Just compare RR and MI, clearly one team has been more profitable than the other. However as it turns out bias for MI and CSK has existed before and even presently, so every decision will be with accordance with them.

It means that teams with excellent players can save excellent money as they do not need to buy their players with competition in the form of auction. And then it leaves a weaker quality of players available at auction which is unfair for teams who want to buy players in the auction. And it is not like teams did not know this rule when they brought the players, they knew about this rule that these players will be till end of contract. So it is injustice if suddenly these teams demand to amend the rules again.

Let the teams retain a max number of players (it can be non-mandatory..is anyteam like DC who will want to start fresh can do so). This will allow atleast some sort of continuality. Offcourse....there should also be a rule that will determine that the teams who keep players not be allowes to bid for some rounds...to make sure there is evenness.

xblack888 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 i think the teams should not be shuffled..its because of the shuffling many ppl lost interest in IPL last yr..now only ppl have started to watch again..if they do a auction,then that willl be the end of IPL but i feel they can change a rule..instead of the 4 foreign players allowed,i feel the rule should be 7 r 8 international players no matter whether they r indian r foreign..it can benefit both indian team and franchises..the imbalance now is because teams are four foreign players and the rest are indian intl players(especially strong teams)..so if u create this rule,then there will be never imbalance and even franchises wont ask auction...but i feel there surely be a limit for intl players coz its like 11 vs 4...its not fair if u didnt change the rule,no matter how many auctions u make,u will never get the balance i dont think ppl will hate if foreign players r played..for ex,gayle has more fans in bangalore than kohli..ppl in india will like good cricket always,no matter whoever plays it

(Yusuf, Saurabh Tiwary, Bhajji, Dan Christian, Nayar, to all :hehe: also they will be :nervous:) One would also expect the likes Varun Aaron, Yadav, and Awana breaching the $2mil mark considering how last time decent Indian pace bowlers became inflated commodities. But I think retention should remain. And also bring in a draft system (like NFL) for int India U19 players where the teams finishing last get first picks on them and so on for next team in reversal. So hence we don't have a situation like Mumbai or Dilli hogging all the young talent but hardly give them games for obvious reasons. Teams like Deccan, Pune, Royals could do with players like Abu Nechim, Kulkarni, Suryakumar, unmukt chand etc.
