Even in last IPL, his first 6-7 matches were quiet and then still scored over 400 runs and this can happen even this year. He has found his form in last 2-3 matches.

They cant score runs at pace in middle order. Raina and Rohit both are middle order bats and can hit sixes at will in middle and end overs. You need pick batsmen at the number they would play rather than just the number of runs they scored. WE already have Gayle, Viru, GG all better than SD, Rahane, and Mandeep as openers.

I for one think that the selection of best XI should be purely based on numbers and impact. I am least concerned about the positions they bat at in this format of the game.

I am least concerned about the positions they bat at in this format of the game. uthappa has no impact no matter where he bats. It is going to be a toss up between lot of players. Rohit helped a good deal in 2 or 3 matches for his side by picking up the rate. Statistically Rahane is better. But he has a huge problem area. He cannot produce huge overs that is required in the last 5 or 6 overs.

Uthappas has not been dominating at all. He has struggled to find boundaries. Rohit is game changer and a match winner. He won two matches to MI by his blistering knocks. Raina while struggled was still finding boundaries easily, but was not able to prolong his innings.
