rkt.india Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyjbmrRBqPg]Rohit Sharma 80(53)- India v Pakistan Oval 3rd June 2009 - YouTube[/ame] Watch this video and look at Saeed Ajmal's bowling action which is not looking as worse as it looks now. There is not much jerk in it and coming in an arc. It shows his action has got worse since he is unbanned by ICC.
rkt.india Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 The rest of our batsman looked like novices that day. Yes. With the kind of ability, Rohit has, he should been one of the top batsmen in the world right now, but it is frustrating to see him not making his talent count at its fullest.
saneindian Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 WHy even get into comparisons? Both of them are two of the brightest batting talents in cricket right now and will be the pillars of our middle order across formats for the next 8-10 years. Rohit had questions over his temperament, but think post the WC snub, he's worked hard on his game, looks lot more fitter and has made a positive comeback to the side. Out of the 3 ODI series he's played since his comeback, he helped us win two of those, some of the knocks he played vs WI won us games which were almost lost. Shows what he is capable of. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/489223.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/536929.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/536930.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/536931.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/535798.html

His game after world cup 2011 has improved a lot. He failed in 3 ODIs in Australia but then after being benched for 2 months, we can't expect him to start scoring straight away , note to that even Kohli failed in those ODI games.
Number Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 Innings like this I am talking about Rohit can play against such an attack. Rohit Sharma 78 not out vs Australia World T20 2010 - YouTube Thanks for sharing. I couldn't watch this innings live. Was searching for some time.

saneindian Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Did fairly well on his first tour of Australia, has done well in SA and Eng pithces, though in t20s. Don't think the prob. BTW the pitches WI for the ODI series were anything but 'these tracks'. Sporting tracks with plenty of movement and bounce. Rohit was MoS there.
Old guy Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 actually spinners were getting wickets there in odi's tracks were more identical to sub continent i think anyway west indies isnt tht good of team against quality bowling he struggles
rkt.india Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 actually spinners were getting wickets there in odi's tracks were more identical to sub continent i think anyway west indies isnt tht good of team against quality bowling he struggles West Indies has a good bowling attack, IMO, Better than India and SL.
Old guy Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 West Indies has a good bowling attack' date=' IMO, Better than India and SL.[/quote'] right now yes back then no.. there guys were still developing i think there was no roach ?
rkt.india Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 right now yes back then no.. there guys were still developing i think there was no roach ? what back then. It is not one year since then. They had Edwards and Rampaul in that series and Roach was out of form so was benched, Rampaul was in good form, now Rampaul is out of form and is benched, Roach is in form. Edwards is unpredictable, can come up with a fiery spell at any time.

rkt.india Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 ya and rohit was not part of tests played only odis :P tht attack was nothing like today Both attacks are same. There is no difference. Rohit played crucial innings against the same attack in India ODI series where Kohli failed bar one match.

rkt.india Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 there is one big difference tht this team is improving anyway i wont be convinced until he performs agaisnt quality team till then he will be jsut a another talented under achiever arent his innings Against SA in 2007 Twc and 2010 Twc were quality especially latter where all other tees maar khans proved unneees.
Old guy Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 arent his innings Against SA in 2007 Twc and 2010 Twc were quality especially latter where all other tees maar khans proved unneees. i dont count t20 as serious cricket but good innings... and 2007 was long time ago just one inning after that he has not even performed once ... talent was never in question he can play those gems and win matches on his own but all im saying is he has been pretty bad against quality bowlers oon pitches with little life unless he performs this fact wont change

Old guy Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Then dont be judgemental until he plays tests. but we can easily judge his odi performance cant we ? he has played enough ..and conclusion we can draw out iis gr8 against minnows and in subcontinent conditions needs to improve his game for overseas fixtures (even in odis) did u see him bat in south africa?
