1. BCCI can blame itself for creating such a stupid system in the first place. Who the feck auctions with a salary cap, with ever changing rules. Plus most of the details arent made public. 2. Franchises will use every avenue they can since they are being fecked over in every possible way by BCCI. 3. If anything ever comes of this, it will only show the poor structure BCCI has implemented and its reaping its own consequences.

I just saw Shalabh Srivastava, Rajat Bhatia and Samad Fallah's interview. Shalabh is a dodo, stupid enough to leak all IPL grapevine/gossip to unknown people. You don't even know whether all that he is saying is true; he might be bull*****ing a lot to hike up his price to prospective sport management consultants one way or the other. No video of him asking for 10 lakhs for a no-ball. Bhatia is damn intelligent - he even asks the undercover reporters why they would want to represent him since he is not 22-23 and does not have a bright future in terms of playing for India. Then he plays diplomatic all along and does not get lured by any money-talk; he rather says he'll think about offers once he is done with this IPL. Also stresses on the fact that he is concerned about his performance this IPL. Samad Fallah - sounds like an arrogant pryck - who says he is no ordinary player, and his stats are there to prove how good he is. But he also says he's not too bothered about money and all to jump off his IPL side.

Lol @ people saying "if he can spot fix in an unheard of local league, he can do in IPL as well". 1. Nobody cares about local leagues. 2. Whatever BCCI try to, it simply CAN NOT, provide anti corruption coverage for such leagues, given the sheer number of such events happening across India. The economics can not work out, and the cost isn't worth the benefit. Where do they stop? Gully cricket? Backstreet cricket? Indoor cricket? book cricket? 3. There is no way a person intelligent enough to balance his body and make a run up to the crease and deliver a ball in the IPL, is going to produce such a noball for the measly sum of Rs. 40,000. No frigging way. Each and every movement of a bowler is scrutinised in such detail, plus exhaustive coverage of the IPL by anticorruption unit provided by ICC. How many times have it been proved that fixing happened in IPL matches? Proved... ZERO... in 5 years. There is a reason for that. Now to the black money part: 1. Can understand BCCI's decision to have salary caps atleast at the beginning of the tournament to give it a sense of equal footing. Otherwise it'll be basically Mumbai Indians vs CSK vs RCB pretty much every IPL, the others merely making up the numbers. One reason why we have had such a close IPL, with 7 teams still in contention for the top 4, is because of the relatively even distribution of talent. It is far from perfect, but it is much better than the alternative of having to see an oligarchy formed by the three teams with the deepest pockets. 2. That said, the enforceability of that rule is pretty much limited, given how uncapped players can be lured by promises of add-ons to the existing cap. Nobody can put a cap on the sponsorship income a player can earn, and this is exactly where the franchises do the seducing part. Give em 30 Lakhs and then award them a brand ambassador contract for any of the products these guys actually sell. 3. Most of these men are from rural areas and have not that much of education. I can perfectly understand why a player would term money from such add-on contracts/sponsorships as "black money" because in his mind, the only sum he's eligible to receive by way of compensation is the one stipulated by BCCI. Or it could be just that the guys were boasting.

Every basket will contain a rotten mango.. that's inevitable. BCCI has to manage thousands of them, so some inevitable is bound to slip through the nets. The scale is that huge, and they are bound beyond a point. They cannot plant chips in each and every of the 10000s of players mobiles and accessories, nor can they monitor what they do and whom they meet every day. At the best they can educate. But what education can cure innate greed and foolishness of some men?

I saw only sting on Salabh Srivastav. One thing he said made sense to me: "Agar Gambhir ka auction 11 cr mein hota hai, Dhoni ya Raina kya bewakoof hain? Socho sreenivasan ne kitne mein retain kiya hoga" Btw to be fair, this 30lakh for uncapped players doesn't make sense. Why can't you have auction for Indian uncapped players if you auction third rate Australians? Such rules will only lead to players demanding black money

I don't understand people here. It doesn't matter whether the mal practice is small or large. What matters is that it happened and people need to be punish, no excuses for their actions. Secondly, no need to blame BCCI. They can say and do whatever they want. There comes a point where you have to take personal accountability in considerations. BCCI and bookies might say anything, the last decision falls on the player and he can say NO. Finally, some of the comments are trying to show how this is different that what Pakistani's did. I don't think there is any need to compare ourselves with Pakistan. What happened here is in appropriate and needs to be taken care of. At the end of the day, it illegal and against the trust f people. My $0.02

I don't know and I hope nobody is saying that. But I saw some posts finding excuses.
