I know that but I am asking why does franchisees have to pay them in black? Also what happened to that rule, I remember BCCI banned Jaddu for a season for trying out a dealing with MI..And Pandey also got punished.. Also are franchisees making huge profits from IPL that they can pay these players in black?
Franchises have to pay them in black beacuse as per BCCI rule they have to earn only 30 lakhs..now if a player paid 1.5 crore what about tax? BCCI will come to know this [but i think BCCI knows everything Srini is chief of both BCCI and CSK so its naive to think bcci doesnt know about htis)

Fixing allegations Shocking allegations of match-fixing and spot-fixing have come out. Are they real or something faked by "India TV"? As regards the IPL itself, there is only someone's "belief" that a match from last year's IPL was fixed, and a "willingness" on the part of somebody to spot-fix a no-ball in a future match. How worrisome is that compared to knowing for sure that fixing has occurred? Is this a cynical publicity stunt by a greedy TV channel? Is the allegation of under-the-table black money player payments really harmful to the game itself? Or it is just something the taxman needs to worry about? Will BCCI actually do a serious investigation? How effective will it be? Will their findings be promptly made public? Seems to be that if they find anything, they will move heaven and earth to hide it. What a timing for this to come out, just when things were getting really interesting. -Prasad

Spot-Fixing: Five players suspended from all forms of cricket

Mumbai: The Indian Premier League Governing Council has recommended the suspension of 5 players allegedly caught on camera indulging in spot-fixing in a sting operation aired by a TV channel, sources say. The Board of Control for Cricket in India president N Srinivasan will take a final decision. The five players are Amit Yadav, Mohnish Mishra, Abhinav Bali, TP Sudhindra and Shalabh Srivastava. An emergency meeting of the IPL council was held in Mumbai today after the sting operation was aired. The news channel had been asked to provide full footage of the tape which purportedly caught the players negotiating for bribes for spot-fixing. Earlier in the day, Mr Srinivasan said that all those found guilty would be punished and IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla had the cash-rich T20 tournament must be kept clean at any cost. The BCCI would initiate an enquiry into both the role of players and franchises in the "murky deals" that the sting operation purportedly uncovers. Anti Corruption Unit chief Ravi Sawani will head the enquiry. Among the players now under the scanner are TP Sudhindra of the Deccan Chargers who is seen on camera allegedly accepting bribes before a domestic match. Although there is no proof that the 28-year-old pacer from Madhya Pradesh has taken money during the course of the IPL, on camera he is seen asking for Rs. 40,000 to bowl a no-ball during an Indore T20 League match. The player, who took 40 wickets for his state in the 2011-12 season, did bowl a huge no-ball off the secondŽÂ delivery of his first over in that match. Kings XI fast bowler Shalabh Srivastav, purportedly on tape demanding Rs. 10 lakh to bowl a deliberate no-ball during an IPL game, says he is innocent and the tape is doctored. On camera, players are also heard talking about being paid by IPL franchises in black money, among them Mohnish Mishra of the Sahara Pune Warriors. The Pune franchise has swiftly distanced itself from the player's alleged statement and has said in a statement, "Mishra's claims that any money was paid to any player over and above the maximum permissible amount is not true." India TV, the news channel which aired the sting operation, says it stands by its year-long operation.ŽÂ Chief Editor of the channel Rajat Sharma said the objective was to lift the cover from illegal operations. He said he did not believe any big players were involved.

I just saw Shalabh Srivastava, Rajat Bhatia and Samad Fallah's interview. Shalabh is a dodo, stupid enough to leak all IPL grapevine/gossip to unknown people. You don't even know whether all that he is saying is true; he might be bull*****ing a lot to hike up his price to prospective sport management consultants one way or the other. No video of him asking for 10 lakhs for a no-ball. Bhatia is damn intelligent - he even asks the undercover reporters why they would want to represent him since he is not 22-23 and does not have a bright future in terms of playing for India. Then he plays diplomatic all along and does not get lured by any money-talk; he rather says he'll think about offers once he is done with this IPL. Also stresses on the fact that he is concerned about his performance this IPL. Samad Fallah - sounds like an arrogant pryck - who says he is no ordinary player, and his stats are there to prove how good he is. But he also says he's not too bothered about money and all to jump off his IPL side.

i am sad two of top MP players are caught in this. I see this as a result of shady characters around the league and temptations for the uncapped players who get way less than others. Guy like Mayank Aggarwal gets pittance compared to tiwary even though he may do better

BCCI should remove the upper cap in the auction and allow uncapped players too..Even if this would result in imbalances among teams, it will at least results in more transparency...Moreover highest paid team may not necessarily turns out be best team, case in point :pw:

How would Mishra prove that one crore cash amount of black money? There is a chance he's making it up to hike his price; I anyway don't understand why would Pune pay an average player like Mishra so much who they hardly gave a game. I can still logically understand why someone like Pandey might get a 90-lakh Mercedes from Pune, but Mishra? And Mishra wouldn't even want to prove anything about the black money now. :giggle:
