I am surprised at this, especially Broad and Bresnan bowling at least 4-5 miles slower than last year vs India. And considering there hasn't been much in the wickets too, me thinks this West Indies batting line-up is actually over-rated. But it was same vs SL too last year before India arrived, the intensity was well down compared to India.

It was the same in Sri Lanka too. The were just ambling. I'm not entirely sure of the reason.

Injury concerns. Especially Broad who is vulnerable if he is overworked. With crucial series coming up against South Africa, India and Australia, Flower can definitely not have two of Anderson, Broad, and Swann out due to injury. It helps also everyone barring maybe South Africa hasn't got a batting line-up to pose a challenge.

It's what I thought too. While the explanation is okay for Broad, not sure about Bresnan.

They have one eye on SA test series which will be tougher and more important. They know they can win against WI even with their 50-60% effort. I dont think they want to get injured before that series by putting their best effort against WI. WI top order batting has been abysmal. There has been nothing much in the pitches and still they are getting on lose shots.
