And obviously question Dhoni's test place. Dravid has already retired and Im sure Laxman will leave before the next series too. In SC Sehwag is still a good player so he should be persisted with, but made to bat in the middle order in the next overseas series. Sachin is the only one who will play till the end of this year.

Not the one for conspiracy theories but I think it might not just be that we failed due to poor performance.

Cricket is great leveler, to win you should have atleast 7 to 8 players in top form, you can carry 3 to 4 out of form players.. Our problem was we had too many players out of form at the same time

Yes India's performance was dismal and West Indies is better. That's just it. No point in comparing the two sets of tours. We all know the reasons for our performance failure which is independent of the current WI team performance.

Our same batting line up would have racked up big scores against the same Aussie and English bowling line up a few years back. It didn't help that a younger chap like Gambhir batted like a ****ing tailender. This is where he needed to step up. After embarrassing himself batting like a left handed Javed Omar in the 1st innings in SA, he fought it out during the rest of the tour. However, he gives me no confidence when the ball does a bit against a half decent attack. He needs to sort out his technical issues because they are back.

Infact swing was less for India, who found it hard to bowl out England for 500. Indian batting made it appear that wickets were bowling friendly but the wickets were not hostile, as the Indian bowlers found out. For WI, more than one batsman is willing to fight it out, while for us apart from Dravid the England tour was a disaster. Anyways it is not a great idea to compare two tours separated by an year. At that time WI lost to India too. India is declining fast while WI is apparently on the rise ( but knowing the WI team for the past 15 years, I wont be surpised to see them go down again, they have no consistancy).

India had the better of the bowling conditions at Lords and Trent Bridge. The ball swung a mile on the 1st days of both tests when India were bowling. We lost those matches in spite of getting the more favourable bowling conditions.
