JourneyMan Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 CSK were lucky not to be taken to pieces by the Mumbai and DD batting line-ups. Their batting has been top class in the playoffs but finally it was the lack of a bowling unit that made them pay dearly. Ashwin is the one reliable bowler they have, and unfortunately for them he got ripped apart today. From Hilfenhaus, Bravp and Morkel not one of them is a death over bowler. Someone like Dirk Nannes would be a crucial addition to their team, and they will also need to look for some decent spinners.
Sehwag1830 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Nah. Jadeja cost them this cup. He neither batted nor bowled today.
Ultimate_Game Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 CSK will be fine. They are quite balanced and dn't need too many changes. I think they phucked up spending 2 million $s on Jaddu. If they get one decent bowler they would be fine. They lost a close game after scoring 190. You can't blame them too much.
JourneyMan Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 Their advantage is that their batting line-up doesn't rely too heavily on foreign players (unlike DD/RCB). They should definitely try to get one good paceman who can bowl at the death as well, and a world class spinner. Hussey + Bravo + spinner + paceman would be the foreign quota, there are enough decent Indian players for the remaining spots.
superstar Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 First India needs to buy some bowlers. Probably buy naraine, steyn and give them indian citizenship :D
The Dark Horse Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Great thing to have reached the finals with full toss man Hilfy being the best bowler
yoda Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 We went to the finals and played a great game, and people want whole sale changes. Stop the madness folks, the same team next year for me, just perform to potential.

I am thinking all our CSK dudes will have a single Indian appearance before that

If you're going to get foreign players, might as well get the best you can.
asterix Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 You need loads of luck to win against a team like CSK in finals.. KKR rode onlots of luck during the partnership between Kallis and Bisla..There were quite a few missed chances.. Also, Dhoni's over reliance on Jhakati created problems.. He should've given few overs to Raina (usually breaks a partnership) and Jaddu..
Naaz-neesh Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 CSK need Umar Gul, they never had proven death bowler,
yoda Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 even Jaddu:confused: Well Jaddu is one guy we can get rid of for sure. But he is there for one more year minimum I presume since he was just bought in an auction.
Sehwag1830 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 CSK need Umar Gul' date=' they never had proven death bowler,[/quote'] He would lose the match in first spell itself. No death bowling will be needed

Ultimate_Game Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 CSK need Umar Gul' date=' they never had proven death bowler,[/quote'] The same guy Sehwag manhandled in the WC and the same guy who hardly does anything cometh a pressure game? :giggle:

If you're going to get foreign players, might as well get the best you can. You kidding me? Let me give you an answer - there are no better replacements, unless you can get a Malinga. Morkel is invaluable especially as a late order bat and Hilf has been a great replacement for Bollinger.

James Anderson, who wasn't even bought at the auctions?
Ultimate_Game Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Dirk Nannes, who wasn't even used? James Anderson, who wasn't even bought at the auctions? Anderson sucks in shorter formats and especially in subcontinent. Balaji would be an uprade on Anderson in subcontinent.
