Please stop getting information about India and Russia from BBC. BBC has a historical hatred for these countries.
What are you talking man?? I have personal examples of my friends being attacked in Russia and them telling me horror stories.

I was just speaking to a friend about this, he is a regular visitor of football matches and says UK is just as bad, if someone wanted to expose the racism in this country, it'd look just as bad as Ukraine

This is horrible; wish I don't have to go there although that's a shame cos the Ukrainian girls are hot! (at least ones in US)

Media has a habit of exaggerating, they did the same thing with south africa before 2010 world cup. if non-whites want to go and watch euro then go but always stay in groups of atleast 4-5 and try to stay away from trouble as precaution

Racism is everywhere including India. People of NE are looked down in Delhi. People from south get stick in north (and vice versa). Let us worry about our country first.

The amount of abuse black people in India get is no less deplorable. So glass houses and throwing stones etc comes to mind here.
true dat Indians are so obsessed with "gora rang"- anyone in India with fair complexion is considered good looking while no one pauses to criticize dark complexioned ppl

Of course we should also promote racism and stop criticizing it.

What about those ads which show that your life is depressing and like hell when you're dark and suddenly becomes very good after gaining fairness. :giggle:

What are you guys talking about, did you even watch what happens among the crowd ? They corner the Indians and beat them up because they're 'black'. Racist slang is deliberately used when a player is near a section of the crowd or gets to kick the ball. Meanwhile, Ghris Gayle is a hero in India and so was Brian Lara & many others of similar race. Staring on people just isn't the same as cornering & punching them repeatedly, is that so hard to understand ?

Those are respected because they are successful. Just for similar example - few women are treated highly doesn't mean there is no gender discrimination among common people in India.

Who said there's 'no' racism or discrimination in India ? The difference is the levels, and its plain idiotic to suggest the same old BS about it being everywhere yada yada. There IS a major difference between India & the region being discussed, we don't have right wing gangs that go about beating up people of a certain race, especially not on major sporting events.
