Celebrations are just winding up, bags have been packed for Kolkata where his side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) await a grand ceremonial welcome as the newest IPL champions. It's the night young Iqbal Abdulla has waited for since five years when his stint with KKR began and finally Chennai Super Kings have been stunned in their home yard. But Abdulla won't be unpacking his bags and putting his feet up. In fact, he'll be heading straight to Bangladesh after his short visit to Kolkata. The left-arm spinner will be taking part in the Dhaka Premier League for Shakib Al Hasan-led side Victoria which also has players like Tamim Iqbal. ŵhere was no cricket happening after IPL, so I applied for a NOC from MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) and will be playing in Bangladesh starting next month. For me it is important to stay in touch, Abdulla told The Indian Express. The left-arm spinner had an average IPL-5 season with only four wickets coming from nine matches. However, his fielding had been great help for KKR. Abdulla said when Shakib gave him the offer he couldn't say no. With monsoons predicted to hit Mumbai next month, there is hardly any cricket in the city. Abdulla said he will at least get a chance to bat one-drop for Victoria. Ţt least I will get a chance to play 4-5 games and with player like Shakib and Tamim in the side, it will be a good learning experience for me. It will be a 50 overs game and I will get a chance to bat at the top of the order too which will help me gain confidence, the Mumbai left-arm spinner said. Having been with KKR since the beginning of the IPL season, Abdulla says winning IPL-5 was a big moment. KKR lost last season in the semis to Mumbai Indians but this year they played good cricket throughout. ŵhe team played true to their potential entire season. I was in and out of the team but I knew that whenever chances came, I gave my best. The team already had two spinners in Shakib and Sunil Narine and it was hard to find a place, he added. Abdulla said Gambhir is a stubborn captain, who likes to lead the team from the front. He's always ready to give back to his opponents and always backs his players. źou can call him a khadoos captain, who wants to do well anyhow. He has been our star performer and being the captain he has backed each one of us in the dressing room. The team has really come out well under his leadership, Abdulla said. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/abdulla-heads-to-dhaka-via-kolkata/955141/0

Iqbal Abdullah playing in bangladesh domestic tournament Iqbal abdullah is now playing for a big club in the dhaka premiere league in bangladesh, sharing the same dressing room as sakib and tamim and other quality local SLAs. This will be good for the youngster, he can learn a lot from our domestic circuit as we have a legacy of producing high quality SLAs throughout time(and that has been our only achievement), I see him representing Indian cricket team in the future :two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up: Anyway in the recent match his figures where 10-0-32-2 :two_thumbs_up:

Good for the youngster. Looks like Shakib helped him there. I also read somewhere that Rajat Bhatia used to be a regular for these league tournaments in BD. Does he still play there?
