Rayudu had played an excellent inning last match and there were no signs of injury. Then how did this sudden exclusion happen? Lack of coverage of this series is really frustrating. Rayudu was the only quality batsman we were like to unearth from this series and he misses out on this golden to prove his consistency in FC format in A matches! Entire media is busy covering the meaningless WT20 and now even worthless CLT20. What on earth happened happened to Shami Ahamad in the 2nd inning of the 1st match that he is even ruled out of this match? And what kind of a pitch is this where 433 runs have been scored in 90 overs in one single day? India A hold advantage India A have made a strong start to the second Four-Day match against New Zealand A at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln. An unbeaten fifth wicket partnership of 294 between Mandeep Singh and Ashok Menaria justified the visitors decision to bat, as the pair took India to 433 for four at stumps on day one. New Zealand had the better of the opening stages, as they dismissed openers Unmukt Chand (7) and Abhinav Mukund (12) with just 31 runs on the board for India. Anustup Majumdar (56) helped India consolidate and alongside Singh saw his side to 107 for two at lunch. When Brent Arnel had both Majumdar and his replacement Suryakumar Yadav out in quick succession, India was looking precarious at 139 for four. New Zealand looked to further increase their advantage, but failed to produce an answer to the aggression shown by Singh and Menaria. Singh was cautious at first, but proceeded to play some exquisite shots and brought up his century off 147 balls with a delicate dab to third man. At the other end Menaria played his strokes from ball one and maintained a strike-rate of close to 100 throughout the day. After facing just 90 balls in the middle he too brought up triple figures, having scored 60 of his runs through boundaries. There was no reprieve for New Zealand following their milestones either, as they continued to find the boundary and brought up 350 for India with a well struck six. Both batsmen raised their bats once again when they each brought up 150, with Singh ending the day unbeaten on 169 and Menaria unbeaten on 164. Brent Arnel was the most successful of the home sideÃÔ bowlers and finished with figures of three for 70 from 22 overs.
