For now. Dhoni has become very predictable for ages. Viru plays with heart and freedom. A lot of respect for him :two_thumbs_up: He also is attacking as a Captain, rotates bowlers a lot more and brings himself on. He is dropping catches which is unlike him. I think Dhoni caused this rift. Anyway let us all discuss the playing 11 rather than Captain...

Dude stop throwing bait in this thread. It is Sree but the purpose of this thread is to discuss tactics and team selection for next ODI. I do believe with Sree as Captain in all formats the team will reap the rewards with a minimum five year tenure of his captaincy.

And I was really impressed by his bowling when he started off and even though he might have turned the corner on his comeback. But international cricket requires a lot of discipline, dedication to fitness, and constant honing of skills. He just does not have the mental maturity to put himself through the rigors to do all that and if he does not have it by now chances are slim that he will gain that now.

This is not reaction btw. Despite how much you watch, can't believe you don't understand this fundamental point. Difference between attacking and couter attacking. Gauti could have played counter attacking if he started earlier.

Gauti could have played counter attacking if he started earlier.[/quote'] sorry ur whole cricketing understanding is based on could have been,would have been for example sreesanth it does not works like that counter attacking ,successful counter attacking would have been the best case scenario for us .... not the most likely ! now he could have gone for runs.. and on the other hand gotten out earlier itsm atter of judgement of batsman most of our teams believes in staying there till end and it has worked for us ..also gautam is an opener and probably first time ended up in this situation so i never expected anything big form him yes i remember the times hussey played briliant innings with the tail but thats his specialty i think we should be happy gautam played on and made these 60 odd runs other wise we would have been out for less then 80 :cantstop:

Yeah I agree that what Gauti scored is still good. But think of it this way. The top order collapsed around him, what hope was there for the lower order once Ashwin went. I think Ashwin dismissal was turning point. At this point, he should have kept most the strike, and either dealt in two's or boundaries. He should have told the other guy to stick it out and score single to get off strike only. That is what I would have done.
