To win games single handedly one Batsman has to hold one end up even when rest of the top batsman keep on getting dismissed something that Bevan specialized in , Dhoni would just give away his wicket when rest of the main batsman are gone . Bevan could win matches from situations when 100 odd runs were required with 2-3 wickets in Hand , Dhoni could do it only when 6-7 wickets are in Hand with main batsman to give him company at the crease.

Bevan could never do that. Bevan has never produced anything close to some of the whirlwind innings dhoni has played.
Exactly, Bevan was one-dimensional in sense that he was excellent at finishing when chasing, but pretty average when batting first and providing that "finishing" omph. Bevan would laso struggle to chase big scores seen these days compared to the last decade where 230 was considered par, but now a par is considered 250 (and even higher on Asian pitches). Infact Dhoni has already passed Bevan as the best ODI finisher, and probably expect Eoin Morgan to surpass Bevan, if Morgan sustains his recent performances over the next decade. Infact any future finishers now need to be compared to Dhoni rather then Bevan, and Morgan is better than Bevan again in terms of overall finisher package.

Agreed. After one of CL t20 games(I know it's tamasha kirkut)' date=' in which Bravo had gone berzerk, he actually mentioned that it all started with MSD being at the other end. Now, technically speaking, I don't recall him hitting any boundary or any forcing shot, but if we keep aside the conspiracy theory of Bravo trying to retain his place and hence saying that, there would have been some degree of truth in whatever he said.[/quote']Conspiracy theories are a fun way of life...please don't keep 'em away

Please produce some evidence and please also produce evidence of Dhoni not being able to do it in such situations...you know the games in which he got out

he's not ex yet. :--D also calling sachin his favourite may look a bit fanboyish as he is one of his contemporaries/friends. There will always be ppl who pick up the question but everyone knows now it has no merit unlike back in say, 2006. Then there were plenty of Lara - Tendulkar comparisons. After his second wind, you hardly hear Lara and Tendli in same breath anymore.
Lol, you believe that Dravid said so?

Dhoni is good but yuvi is better in lois
Actually Yuvi is pretty good but his earlier days kind of diminish his resume so I'd go with Dhoni who's been consistent from the beginning.

Yuvi was indias best player in the only 2 big trophies india won in this decade. Who has more Mos awards?

It was Gambhir who won that match.
 Dhoni is a master of ODI cricket and specially a master at how to build an ODI innings. Many players can learn from him on how to be a good ODI batsman ,by just looking at the way he goes about his business in ODI cricket. As far as comparison with Bevan is concerned,Dhoni is better just because he has that power hitting ability which Bevan never had.And I dont buy this arguement of Bevan facing better bowlers etc,it wasnt Dhoni's fault that Bevan faced better bowlers. And mind you,I dont think Steyn,Malinga,Lee,Murali,Afridi,Ajmal etc are any lesser bowlers in ODI cricket.Add to that he is a wicket keeper as well, which makes his special record in the chases even more special. And when it comes to finishing the matches with tail ,its just the same arguement which Pakoris use to prove Inzi is better than Sach :hehe:.Its no surprise that its been used by a regular green ghettoer Andrew Peters aka Rajan, stay there and defend your God,youre good at that :finger: And @hiha,Dhoni averages 69 in Aus tracks and 92 in NZ tracks ,so dont know WTF are you talking about. If you're talking about SA,he failed there only on this tour ,on the last tour he was our highest scorer.Anyways you can keep having orgasms about Saurav Ganguly :two_thumbs_up: Finally, the batsman who does this ,is automatically the best finisher, baaki sab gaye tel lene :finger: 2f5CqV-S0R8

this comparision seems to be meaningless. both r different type of finishers from different eras bevan, a 90s style finisher and dhoni a more modern day 2010s type finisher if u need 100 off 20 overs with 3 wickets in hand, then u would go with bevan but if u need 100 off 10 overs with 6 wickets in hand, then u would go with dhoni:D
