ICC pushes again for DRS, BCCI says no

ICC making UDRS mandatory is just a code word for BCCI financing a technology that some of the member boards cannot afford. Even if BCCI were to accept the UDRS' date=' they'd still be reluctant to subsidize a bilateral series from which it doesn't profit at all. What exactly is so irrational about BCCI's stand again?[/quote'] Two amazing posts :hatsoff:

Cricketrulez, nice to know there is one more RSC'er here! As far as this DRS thing is concerned there has been extensive debate on RSC...I do find JZ's skepticism valid and he has been the most forceful (that's his style anyway) on the independent testing side. At the same time I find Holmans' pov also quite meaningful - that we need to start somewhere (although Mike's pov comes across as he is willing to trust xEye without indep testing...but am not sure that's what he means) Like Bharat and many others, I have also raised the issue about blindly accepting xEye and HS. The dialogue and threads with Warren Brennan (creator and owner of HS) have also been informative although not very revealing about the accuracy of HS. I don't think ICF has had even 1% of the amount of rich debate on DRS that RSC has had. Just for the benefit of Clarke and any others who may be interested, JZ Fredricks is not exactly a blanket BCCI-supporting chap and his skepticism of xEye especially is based on the logic that he sees.

Apart from all the logical fallacies of how the UDRS is being implemented, lets get down to the monetary issues. Hear a lot about these "sponsors". Where are these sponsors going to advertise? Obviously, you dont see the camera, so a banner will not work. Show it in the replay? Which is already owned by the TV rights company. Maybe they will have a cheerleader wearing a banner?!Even if they did that, why would any sponsor pay 50,000$ on a SL Vs Pak game that will perhaps show their banner mostly once or twice a day. So lets take it from ICC then. Ha! Where do you think ICC gets it money from and what do you think ICC does with the money? Part of the profit ICC gets from WC, tv rights and its sponsors are evenly distributed to the boards. So obviously, this is where the money will be taken from and it is the boards that will end up paying. So how does it help the poor boards? Instead of getting 5 million $ every year from ICC, they will get 4 million $ , which they can already do, if they wanted to.

It should be same for everyone. ICC is just mot acting as it should, it just jumps in and says that it is thinking about making DRS mandatory and BCCI shuts them down saying they do not support it. It is just as if BCCI is the parent organization here, ICC does not have any ruling power whatsoever.

BCCI refuses DRS again Despite recent proof re the reliability of electronic measures the big bad and biased BCCI have ducked using the DRS or Hotspot in the forthcoming test series in November Personally I think the ICCI should take a really tough stance, as should England during negotiations re how the series will be umpired this winter. We know that the biased BCCI have already ensured that India do not have to tour for over two years unlike every other test nation, now they want to dictate the rules so they cannot get beaten at home on their dust tracks. Wont help them much as umpires are giving LBW's in the absence of DRS, but shows what a cowardly and despicable organisation the BCCI are, to act in such an unsportsmanlike fashion. Next they will want chances for their players to keep it even:hysterical:

What are we going to watch? BCCI says No! Thats it. End of the Story. ICC can go feck itself.
So you advocate rules for every other cricketing nation and special rules for India?

All other nations are free to decide for themselves. Even those who agree are not implementing it in practice. Take the current SL vs PAK series for instance Since I dont want to repeat all the points, pls refer to this thread http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=284534 where ICFers have come up with some valid points.

The only biased i see that England have become no.1 ranked team despite not winning a single test series in Asia against IND, PAK,SL in a decade. England being ranked no.1 has made mockery of ranking system.

Gutless and biased ECB won't say anything against it. :phehehe: Negotiations. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Open you eyes. There is never a negotiation, what BCCI would say that would happen. You are not in 70s. Wake up.

But it'll good for England if BCCI refuses to use it for home series against England. No. of LBWs against spinners for your crap batting line up will be lesser. :winky:

We were and still are a lot more honest and fair in our dealings than the BCCI Still we are number one despite your boards crooked dealings, behind closed doors
