Some examples. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOy-Dnr3xyU]Kinect Teleconferencing with Real-time 3D Capture and 3D Display - YouTube[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QrnwoO1-8A]3D Video Capture with Kinect - YouTube[/ame] I have not seen similar hacks with Wii or other (gaming) motion/gesture capture accessory. It would be intellectually dishonest to speak Wii and Kinect in same breath, from a technology point of view.

Kinect has become more than just an Xbox/gaming accessory. People have built some wonderful hacks around Kinect technology.
thats the problem with MS...people has to build wonderful things around it....MS should have put some more R&D .. Still kinect is more of a fad than a truly revolutionary gadget atleast till now...

Just to prove a point - It's only after developers wrote "hacks" to interface with the PC that Microsoft mulled over an SDK. People just performed "cool tasks" which MS never thought about - it just forayed into the gaming market with XBox. After 1.5 years, Microsoft has just today provided an official SDK for the developers [1]. Once again, MS is as usual behind the 8-ball. [1] http://socialbarrel.com/kinect-for-windows/40061/

Do you know, one of the key factors behind iPhone's success is - apps from developer community -aka- hackers.

It is not that hard to enjoy both worlds. Some own every gaming device that is available from every manufacturer also own both Mac and PC. It is not like Pioneer Plasma vs the rest importantly Panasonic plasma where you cannot get PIoneer kuros anymore. Since Pioneer has stopped making plasmas, owner of pioneers still pride themselves on owning a device that offers picture quality yet to be rivalled by any manufacturer. When i bought my first plasma i decided not to buy pioneer as i was aware they were going to stop manufacturing plasmas and worried about support. Even now i think "have i made a mistake" as everyone from user to expert still uses Pioneer kuros as a reference. http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-20034816-1.html Unlike the above scenario you can own both PC and Mac . No point in claiming one is superior over other as if we invented it :cantstop: .
