CG Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 great team, only debatable is inclusion of hayden knowing how he fared against good attacks and ambrose not being there at all.
Ultimate_Game Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 great team' date='only debatable is inclusion of hayden knowing how he fared against good attacks and ambrose not being there at all.[/quote'] Yup, I still remember how Allan Donald broke his hand and he couldn't face the intl bowlers in 90s to save his life :giggle: Then he came back in 2000s when most of the bowlers who made his life miserable had retired and made hay :haha:
Lurker Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Pretty strong team. Matty Hayden is perhaps the biggest surprise.
ravishingravi Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Hayden shouldn't be there. I have seen him pulverized in 90s when there used to be some quality bowlers. Given what I have seen of Sehwag in last 3 years in testy conditions, I would pull him back too.
Sidhoni Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Hayden seems a big surprise in there, maybe he should have been in the second XI with either Sehwag or Hobbs going into the first.
King Tendulkar Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 Hayden deserves it. Flower as 2nd eleven keeper is a shocker
carnish Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 My Team: 1.Greenidge 2.Hayden 3.Dravid 4.Sachin 5.Lara 6.Kallis 7.Flower 8.Imran 9.McGrath 10.Ambrose 11.Warne 12th Man: Don Bradman
cricketnns Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 My Team: 1.Greenidge 2.Hayden 3.Dravid 4.Sachin 5.Lara 6.Kallis 7.Flower 8.Imran 9.McGrath 10.Ambrose 11.Warne 12th Man: Don Bradman So you included Flower and made Bradman the 12th man?!?! :hysterical: And who's the captain and wicket-keeper by the way? Surely you don't plan to make poor Dravid keep?! Or make Tendulkar captain?
Ultimate_Game Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 So you included Flower and made Bradman the 12th man?!?! :hysterical: And who's the captain and wicket-keeper by the way? Surely you don't plan to make poor Dravid keep?! Or make Tendulkar captain? Wouldn't Flower be the wk As for captain I am sure Imran can do the job :dontknow:

Surely you don't plan to make poor Dravid keep?! Or make Tendulkar captain? I am sure you were in your nappies when Flower used to play ... If you had ever seen him play you would have thought 99999 times before writing this post. Imran Khan the Captain.. cant have a better leader than him .. havent seen in my 16 years of Cricket viewing .. although I never watched him live, I know a lot about him by reading about him and watching old videos .. And I guess after Healy, Flower would be best WK i have seen since 90s and to go alongwith his batting talent, he will easily make into any team. About Bradman not making the cut .. I wanted to have Dravid in my side and hence had to keep him out.
The Outsider Posted August 18, 2012 Author Posted August 18, 2012 ^ Just curious? What do old videos reveal about captaincy?
carnish Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 ^ Just curious? What do old videos reveal about captaincy? Old videos reveal about his batting and bowling exploits .. I also mentioned I read a lot about him, about the leader he was .. That reveals about his captaincy.

Trichromatic Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Old videos reveal about his batting and bowling exploits .. I also mentioned I read a lot about him' date= about the leader he was .. That reveals about his captaincy. Read where? PP where everyone believes that Imran always went for win and you get the feeling that Pakistan hardly played any draw matches under his captaincy because he preferred to lose while trying to win the match instead of going for a draw?

Maybe I read it on PP. Do you think only what you write is the gospel?? Just do a search on Imran on Google.. you will know where and what I read.
