      14
    • No his bowling is a big doubt in test matches.

    • Maybe against NZ he can be experimented as we'll win anyway.

    • It's too early to select him for the test matches. He needs to do more to comeback in the test team.

He is injured
You missed the point. Aaron was injured before IPL and made a hasty comeback so that he coupld play in the IPL when not fully fit and is recovering from the same injury so that he could be fit in time for Champions League. I guess it's pretty clear what Aaron's priorities are at this point as he didn't even bother much about Indian season, all he said was he was trying to get fit for the Champions League

Aaron was fit when he played in IPL. He bowled quick and well. But his injury recurred again. It is not his fault. If he was not fit, he would not have bowled 145K plus in IPL. Do you believe a half fit guy could touch 150K which he did. He only played 6-7 matches in IPL. He had recurrence of injury. What would you say to Pat Cummins who just came back from injury and again got injured after one match? It is easy to blame them rather than understanding the situation. No one has any control on such injuries. They are bone injuries not fitness injuries.

See the part about bowling through niggle? And the part about sending him to Aus earlier which if you read between the lines means that Aaron would have been 100% fit for the IPL had BCCI sent him to Aus 2 months earlier, but since they didn't Aaron played through IPL before he was 100%.
Nope he wasn't. In a recent interview Aaron said he wasn't fully recovered but he thought he would be able to manage in the IPL, and in hindsight he started playing too soon. Let me try finding that article/interview. Recurrence of an injury is sometimes unavoidable and some players are simply unlucky with injuries but to knowingly play when you are not fully recovered is something avoidable. Here's the article...

Bhai these back injuries are the kind that you dont know when to come back and when not. If he could bowl 150K how would I presume that he was not fit enough. After all one cannot bowl at that pace with back niggle. Then you must also assume that he played with injury against WI too because then too he was coming back from same back injury. It is the fault of the system, not his. He is not a doctor to know whether he is fit or not, especially in such complex back injuries and then he bowled as quick as any in IPL. No one thought he was playing with injury because he was hitting high pace. IMO, whoever gave him clearance to play should be held accountable.

If you are a fast bowler and have a history of injuries, e.g. stress fracture in lower back etc., it's all the more important not to play through the "niggles". Don't know about you but if you put those 2 statements from Aaron together, i.e. "I bowld through the niggles" and "BCCi should have sent him to Aus 2 months earlier" it's clear that Aaron wan't 100% ready but played IPL anyways. TA Sekhar is trying t pin the blame on BCCI saying if they had sent Aaron to Aus earlier he would have been fully fit for IPL. And when you read the statement about Aaron targeting Champions League as his comeback it's pretty clear what the story is, i.e. he will focus more on T20s and playing for India is more of an afterthought.

You are misinterpreting that statement. He played against WI too with back injury. You don't know what kind of injury one has straightaway. He has to come back sometime and if he had said by October rather than CLT20 which is being played in October, you wouldn't have questioned it. he said that because CLT20 is easier tournament to make a come back where he can ease himself with 4 overs spell and check his fitness as he would not be able to play days matches straight away.

I don't know what else to think based on that article :dontknow: Aaron says he played IPL through a "niggle", TA Sekhar, the DD's coach trying to deflect the blame on BCCI for not sending Aaron to Aus earlier, and finally Aaron stating that he's targeting CL as his comenack. He didn't target the T20 Cup like Yuvi, or NZ home series, or even the ENg or Aus series later this home season. The only thing I heard from Aaron was about CL. Obviously I don't know Aaron that well but based on the article it does look like Aaron played IPL through an injury and he's more focusd on IPL & CL than playing forthe team. Again, that may not be the reality but that's the my perception.

You did not say anything then. He is targeting CLT20 because it is easy to comeback through an easier tournament where he only has to bowl 4 overs a match which does not put extra load on his back and he can ease his come back. How would he play test or ODI straight away without confirming how fit he is. Other than he is getting nothing by playing for DD in IPL and CL T20 as he is in uncapped players list. Playing for India will do better for him. So I dont see any logic in your perception. Think a bit rationally that if he had targeted Asia but couldnt achieve that target, will he be sure to fit by CLT20, no. It is just a guess because not even physio and doctor will know at what time he will get fit.

Well that's the only article I have read about Aaron in a while and haven't heard him talk about Asia Cup so can't comment on it. As I said after reading the article that's the perception I have and it's for Aaron to change that when he comes back from injury.

He is targeting CLT20 because there is no competitive domestic cricket before that and he cannot come back in Indian team without proving his fitness. CLT20 is a platform to asses his fitness.
