Today Ganguly was pitching for Dinda for the test team while commentating and he was not happy with Ishant being in the scheme of things which really disappointed me. This is clear case of regionalism. We just don't encourage fast bowlers who can bowl quick.

way to miss the point.in ny case read my post closely. just beacuse there was marshall and steyn does not mean chances of finding a gem among 510's is great.its about the probability. just as chances of a great tennis player of henin's height emerging is n't that great in general. its about building a talent pool with the most likely profiles. the better sporting system try to fit the right candidates into the right sport and increase the probaility of success. that's the basis of my point. ofcourse there will be taller guys who turn to be as mediocre ....or one or two exceptional 5 10 who make it up with athletic and other gifts. but looking in the right areas certainly would help a lot.this is not rocket cience

Not impossible. Look at the Wankhede and Dharmshala pitches in IPL. I had never seen such fast and bouncy pitches in India before. It is all about intent. Watch the hghlights of deccan vs MI match at Wankhede? You will believe it is possible. Wankhede track had good pace' date=' movement and bounce all throughout.
