Their own engineers are criticising the car, why don't you take up your grievances up with them? Fuel mileage, economics etc etc count for nothing if the thing is not safe! That thing looks like it will get smashed to a pulp when involved in a crash!

This has also reflected in the sales figures. The biggest issue for Nano was not the car but the marketing. TATA hyped it as the 'cheapest' car in the world not realising that first time owners did not like the idea of being seen in the 'cheapest' car. First time owners preferred to go for a used Alto or Wagon R. People who already owned a car had no such issue in buying Nano as a second car. Still no other company can come up with such a car at this price point. You will appreciate this when you see the attempt by Bajaj with their RE60 which looks like a tin toy, but is expected to be priced almost at par with Nano. Even the three wheeler autos cost nearly as much as the Nano. When the diesel Nano is launched in 2013, expect sales to really take-off.
