ok the 100th-100th was a joke . I agree ! but its not like Tendulkar himself was actually chasing after the record. If was more of a media created hype. I remember sachin saying that it wasn't that important .Maybe it was a mental block . SAchin never goes after the records . He plays for the team .
:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: So the media batted instead of Tendulkar when he was going for his 100th 100 :haha: I am sure that "slow go" against B'desh to reach 100th 100 was media's creation as well. And so was his interviews where he admitted to being bogged down due to the 100th 100 :giggle:

Wow!!! Just wow!!! So you want Tendulkar to play coz 'we will lose in SA anyways" :hail: And you call yourself an Indian fan :omg:
No , I wan't India to win really really badly but I am also a realist .looking at SA's bowling attack it will be very difficult for any team in the world to beat them at home.If anything including Sachin in the lineup will increase our chances of a win .

If you create so much hype about something than obviously it'll play on ones mind. Sachin is only human after all.

Sooooooooo let me get this straight . You'll toss out a proven match winner and genius who has devoted his whole life playing for the country just because he hit bad form for a couple of games.Alright ' date=' who is next ? Dhoni ? Yuvi ? Heyyyyyyyyyy .. kohli hasn't been preforming in tests, must be past his prime . LEts kick him out too.[/quote'] when we discuss about FUTURE you talk about PRESENT. When we discuss about PRESENT. you talk about PAST. Great. "Devoted" his life..are you for real.. Playing cricket for my country is a dream not a sacrifice as you seem to suggest. Tell me one cricket fan who would not devote his life to playing for their country. Yuvi.. majority of us don't want him to play Tests. Same with Dhoni. Have you not seen enough threads on that topic. Regarding Kohli.. that is where future comes to into play. You give long rope to potentially good young players who is likely to serve for very long time. Do you honestly believe Tendulkar will have a longer playing days than Kohli from this piont.

You didn't answer the question about what if we have a better chance to succeed without Tendulkar, then what will you do.

What's all this cr@p about being "unthankful" and "respect"? We are Indian cricket fans and not Tendulkar fanboys. You make it sound as if Tendulkar was the second coming of Christ who made some great sacrifice. He's a professional sportsperson - nothing more and nothing less - just like Dravid, Laxman, Gavaskar, Kapil and numerous others. Being a sportsperson is just like any other job, i.e. you need to perform or make way for others. You are not owed any favors or entitled to "spot for life" in the team. We don't really care for whether Tendulkar "enjoys his cricket" or not. I enjoy cricket as well but I'm not gonna enjoy it at the cost of the national team. Tendulkar has averaged 15 over the last 10 innings and has barely done anything of note over the last 2 years and it's high time he's kicked out. He's not owed anything by BCCI or the fans. He has played for 23 years and as a result he is a billionaire which he wouldn't have been anywhere near becoming if he hadn't become a cricketer. He gained plenty of money and fame in the process and stop pontificating as if he has made some great sacrifice for the nation. In fact he has shown over the last year or so with the 100th 100 fiasco, his picking & choosing the matches & series, his 100th 100 which cost India the Asia Cup, his preference to spend "quality" time with his kids during their "school vacation" and his preference to play IPL while skipping intl matches/series that he's as selfish as any other bloke. Dravid is one guy whom I have respect for - the guy was selfless to the core and hung up his boots when he saw that he was past it whereas the so called "god" is continuing to cling on to his spot even though he's well past it. And knowing him he'll continue playing home matches and retire when India is about to tour SA leaving the team in the lurch with a newbie and an unsettled lineup. But of course "god" deserves to do so coz team doesn't mean anything, it's all about when bhagwan decides he stops "enjoying" his cricket :giggle:

I think its fair to have a different criteria for some who has DOMINATED the game for so long . How many other example can you cite about a batsmen lasting this long and keep making runs. hell its may sound redundant but 100 fuc-king 100's bro . !

Come on guys, let's be fair here. Sachin should go, simply becuase he's too old. I mean come on, he averaged in the 30s since the world cup, just like Laxman, Dhoni, Gambhir and Sehwag. And i mean come on, he's only scored 100 hundreds for India. And, come on, he only dominated bowling attacks all across the world, and as recently as earlier on this year, was looking in impeccable form in Australia. I mean, we should judge Sachin on par with players like Ravindra Jadeja and Joginder Sharma. They don't deserve to be in the team after a bad run so why should Sachin. So what if he's devoted himself to the Indian team since the age of 16. So what if he's devoted himself to cricket since the age of 10. The fact of the matter is that he doesn't deserve another chance because Raina is waiting to take his place in the test team. And i can't wait to see Raina play abroad in Test matches, that will really teach Sachin a thing or two about batting. There's also the possibility that SRT should stay in the team so he can groom Kohli, Pujara and the other youngsters who will be in and out of the squad. These youngsters haven't played much cricket abroad, and have a similar style of subcontinent play to SRT. With RSD and Laxman gone, I don't think they need a mentor anyway. If they learn how to push hard at a moving ball like Dhoni, or learn how to go after every ball outside off stump, that will be best for indian cricket! Definitely there is more value in putting an inexperienced youngster instead of SRT, then letting SRT groom Kohli and Pujara first, before other youngsters join the team. I would love to see India become like Australia post 2007/08. It would be great if Pakistan tour us at home and our out of sorts batting collapses, and we lose 3-1 at home. I can't wait! Sachin plays for records anyway. As a player, he should be getting more and more 0s to make his average less high. I don't think the reason he got his hundredth hundred in a slow fashion against Bangladesh was because he wanted to be certain to get over a mental block that was holding him back from performing his duties in the team. I think it was just him being completely selfish. He must have plotted to play as slowly as possible to let India suffer a slow embarassing defeat. And after all, he must have been so sure Bangladesh would chase down the runs as well! They are such a formidable team after all! Yeh Sachin should go. And not just be dropped, but be publicly humiliated so we all feel great about how Ruthless we are and how a selfish batsman who always wanted to score runs for his team got taught he is worthless. Has done nothing for Indian cricket, deserves nothing, and should be treated on par with others. Just because he is still fit in the field, better than many younger than him, just because his attitude is still so good, just because he has defied his critics time and time again, doesn't mean we should give him another chance! After all, we want to be seen as "Ruthless Aussies" don't we! Without even factoring the differences in cultures in our countries. I want to see India return to the team of the 90s, where we were ****! Good days ahead!

We extended the same courtesy to Kapil dev also. But he is carrying permanent stigma of overstaying. You don't want that on a good player do you? You want him to plough and suffer for each run and eventually nudge himself out? Frankly i want great players to leave on a very high note. That complements their legacy immensely.
Can we stop firing at SRT using Kapil Dev as an excuse please?? Kapil retired in 15 years of International cricket. SRT has been playing his 23rd years of International cricket...and counting. To put things in perspective had Kapil played as long as SRT he would have been playing till 2001. Yeah give that a thought. Secondly, as bad a patch as Kapil was undergoing in his last few years I do not remember him being part of the team getting hammered abroad 0-8 and getting tanked at home too. Do you?? The only thing blind worship by Sachin-bhakts, and the avoidance of direct criticism by decent fans does is to lower down Kapil Dev just for the heck of it. Can we put a stop to that? :winky:

Kapil being an all rounder averaged more with the bat in his last 15 tests than Tendulkar has in his last 15. That's without even bowling a single delivery he was already better than Tendulkar in the last stage of his career.

Maybe Sachin played for that long because he was good enough to play for that long . You can't seriously compare Kapil to SAchin . One cries like a girl on national T.V while the other keeps on going breaking all the batting records on the books and winning india games home and abroad .

How much did Kapil "enjoy his game" though?

Of course I can't. And wont. In my books Kapil Dev was the bigger player. That does not demean SRT in any way. Every single Indian fan, in my humble opinion, ranks Sunny Gavaskar, SRT and Kapil Dev as the greatest 3 players of India of all times. Only the rankings are different. In my opinion, Sachin should have retired a few years back even (2008). I am not gonna pile on him since it has been done and dusted by now. You can differ on this of course :winky:
