Gavaskar is one of the few ATG players whose average in winning cause is less than 50.

They are already posted in descending order of the batting averages. If you want the ascending order of a particular column, just click on the blue header of that column in the table.

Actually, I did query Statguru for the descending order on batting averages I can assure you that. Does this mean that the order changes for everyone on clicks? :ohmy:

Especially for tests I never get how people can say that a batsman is selfish. A batsman can only score runs, he's done his job. Why should he blamed for having a poor career if most of his runs have come in losing cause?

Wonderful statistic. Off the top of my head, those 7 wins should be : Melbourne 81, Mumbai 81, Mumbai 84, Lords 86, Leeds 86, Nagpur 86, Cuttack 87. The majority of these were low-scoring ones where our spinners/seamers came to the party. Plus, SMG batted down the order at Nagpur/Cuttack.

That's because he is always been an overrated player.. When you dig thru his so called "achievements".. you'll see he just happened to be an above average player. But as usual..we Indians are very easily impressed and we have this complex within us that makes us put mediocre or regular people up on pedestals.
