Four boys aged 12-13-years-old are found guilty of gang raping a 14-year-old girl inside her home over the course of three days in June The boys let themselves into the house in Ramapo, New York and sexually assaulted the girl on June 11th and 12th The girl informed authorities that she believed she was raped two days after the final encounter with theboys on June 13th A 12-year-old girl who was present in the same house said the boys attempted to sexually assault her after they turned their attention away from the 14-year- old A Rockland County judge today found four suburban New York boys aged 12 and 13 guilty of raping a 14-year- old girl and trying to rape another 12-year-old girl. Judge Sheri Eisenpress convicted the boys in the family court after an almost month-long trial which included testimonies from the girls, two of the girl's friends and incriminating statements made by the boys to police. 'You hurt those girls. You violated them, you caused them humiliation in a very public way. You hurt their family. You hurt your parents,' said Judge Sherri Eisenpress as she found the one 12 and three 13-year-old boys guilty. Giving evidence by closed circuit television to the court, the girl who is now 15, said that on the second day the boys let themselves into her home uninvited early on June 12th and took it in turns to rape her - only leaving that morning to catch a bus to school for an exam they didn't want to miss. Seriosly effed up! How about not treating them under juvenile laws? If they don't act like children...don't treat them like one when they commit serious crimes.

^^ American law is f*** up and probably racist. I was seeing some prison documentary and there was a black guy who joined other people in a robbery that resulted in a murder at the age of 14 (he did not kill him). He was sentenced to prison without parole for 54 years. He has become an absolute animal in the prison.

The damage done to the girls will stay with them for a lifetime. The boys however, will get just a few years in juvi jail and will be out in time to continue their sociopath lives.

+1, many people get away cause of these all over the world where they apply. They will only commit more crimes as they get older 90% chance.

Are you telling there is no chance that they might be better as adults?

gang rape is not some childish prank.Even teenagers know what they are doing. It is sad that they will most likely get away with next to no punishment and it won;t probably in their record at least as a warning. Do I see them as better adults?...very unlikely...... I can understand people in their youth indulging in arson or other petty crimes. But gangrape is something too serious. If they get away lightly...what lession do they learn? They have a few more years as juvis.....a few more years of rules not applying to them.

On the evidence that they enjoyed the misery of a teenager over three days ? I'd rather err on the side of caution & in the meantime set a bloody example, you don't effin get away just because you're a damn teenager.

If they can't control themselves and end up with serious crime such as this, they should be jailed and punished like adults. Its a disgrace that they will get away with just minor punishments

As far setting an example concerned , 1% of American population is in Prison .Speedy trials , Harsh punishments , but still crime is their. If adults don't learn from examples then what chance that 12-13 year old kids will learn.

How could you say that? It depends on what kind of punishment they get.If they get just locked in prison where they meet more criminals and started believing that how crime is cool then they may not get reformed.but if they recieive right kind of education then there is good chance they may get reformed. Here is an example
http://edition.cnn.com/2012/05/05/world/africa/south-africa-rape/index.html He raped as a teenager and now works to stop sexual violence in South Africa Rebombo was 15 when he raped. The boys in his village of Blinkwater taunted him because he didn't herd cattle and instead went home to help his sisters. He didn't have a girlfriend. "Sissy," the village boys jeered, and challenged him to prove his manhood. The way to do that was by having sex. Forced sex. Rebombo had refused until that day, when he gave in to peer pressure. He recounts what happened in a quiet, steady tone. Two of his friends picked out a girl. They said she thought she was smarter than the boys; she didn't date anyone. Rebombo and his friends would set her straight. "I was afraid because I'd never had sex before," Rebombo says. At 5 o'clock in the evening, he met his friends, drank beer, smoked marijuana. Then it started. The first boy raped her; then the second. She was screaming. It was Rebombo's turn. After it was over, he felt terrible, wracked with guilt and scared that his parents would find out. He says he never gave a thought about how the victim was feeling. Rebombo eventually left his village in Limpopo Province and joined first a religious organization and later an aid agency. He learned about respecting others but strangely, he says, he rarely thought about the girl he raped.
In the above example the guy was not even punished ,yet he became an activist because he learned about respecting through a religious organisation and aid agency

If the children are big enough to imbibe all the bad acts of the society through the films, porn, TV etc. and apply that in their real lives, they deserve to get punished like adults as their crime is incredibly ridiculous. And no teenager will be that foolish that he doesn't know raping is not a cool sign. If they are, then GOD save the,m

Don't you see the difference between the two cases. The boys in the OP raped for three days and attempted to rape another girl.Just because one boy got reformed doesn't mean others will . Besides why does it have to be this or that. No body is saying put them in with adult serious criminals. But don't let them get away with something so serious.Put them away for the same duration as adults in a separate facility.

But adults didnt show them a society where there is rape everywhere. Rape is a whole different thing than sex, I hope you understand that. Most people like sex, very few resort to rape, even if they don't get any. It's like sating if the adults show teenagers a world full of money, they would naturally turn thieves. Or if adults show teenagers a world full of life, they would turn into murderers. They were not teasing girls, or flirting or trying to buy sex, they were raping. Rape is a lot more about sadistic pleasure, cruelty and control. And they didnt do it once, they repeated it, went on for three whole days which also shows a total lack of remorse. Do you know how miserable the girl must have become in three whole days time? How much she must have begged? How much she must have screamed in pain? How much she must have cried, sobbed. No dude, it's not the least bit about sex. This is something way more than that. Sex was just a side act.
