panther Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 how so better batsmen in their era? all the 50 avging behemoths are in this era. this era pitches are flatter and bowlers are crap with a few exceptions.
deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 take away 7.5% from yuvi add 2.5% to inzi. why take away 7.5% from wasim add 2.5% to irfan. irfan > wasim.
deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 needs at least 2000 runs in wins and let there career finish first. lol u make arbitrary criteria on the fly. i say 1000 runs. therefore dhoni>younis
panther Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 why take away 7.5% from wasim add 2.5% to irfan. irfan > wasim. like i said it does not work for bowlers
deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 this era pitches are flatter and bowlers are crap with a few exceptions. same can be said that in 90s pitches were less flat and batsmen wre crap with few exceptions. therefore pathan> wasim.
deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 like i said it does not work for bowlers why not. win% shows match winner. bowler may take wkts in lost games easily as there is no pressure. eg if 6 runs required in 76 balls with 7 wkts remaining: 1. bowler who knows he will lose bowls well and get wkts 2. batsmen eager to finish game quickly slog and give cheap wickets but can't bowl when the match is on the line therefore system works for bowlers too.
deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 This is Inzy's place in Indian pantheon Sachin Dhoni Ganguly Dravid Yuvraj Kohli Sehwag Inzy Gambhir Raina By the end of their careers even Gambhir and Raina will have surpassed aaloo
panther Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 in odi batsman win matches, therefore it does not work in odi for bowlers. bowlers always bowl to take wickets, but a batsman can be selfish and put his own records above the team cause.
deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 in odi batsman win matches, therefore it does not work in odi for bowlers. bowlers always bowl to take wickets, but a batsman can be selfish and put his own records above the team cause. bowlers can also bowl defensively to defensive field settings to lessen runs scored which help in decreasing average instead of bowling to aggressive fields which might get wickets but also might mean getting tonked and increasing er and avg.
panther Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 bowlers can also bowl defensively to defensive field settings to lessen runs scored which help in decreasing average instead of bowling to aggressive fields which might get wickets but also might mean getting tonked and increasing er and avg. any delviery can take a wicket even a wide but a batsman can delibertly just block, and nudge the ball around when rrr is high and he is required to play shots but he fails to do so.
deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 any delviery can take a wicket even a wide but a batsman can delibertly just block' date=' and nudge the ball around when rrr is high and he is required to play shots but he fails to do so.[/quote'] low wkt win % means he is not able to deliver those deliverys that can take wkts when required thus setting up te match for a loss and then taking a few wkts once match is already almost over. eg recent asia cup match - whoever took rohit sharma and kohli's wkts did it once the match was nearly lost. thus a low wkt win% means choking ability of bowler - bowls well when match is already lost.
deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 more dravid praise highest avgs of wk batsman(min 50 matches) dhoni - 51.17 dravid - 44.23  sanga - 40.44 gilly - 35.64 here are the highest pakis kakmal - 27.12 moin khan - 22.96 rashid latif - 19.42 so u can see batting while wk is not easy.

deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 wickets in losing cause are not included in my analysis. they are in mine.
deathmonger Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 I will post later i have to go now. ok. devise another crap algorithm.
Sid Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 wickets in losing cause are not included in my analysis. they are in mine. :cantstop:
Vilander Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 On a side note If one were to select a Indo Pak dream team both would feature at 4 and 5 Id say' date=' would make for some deft middle overs accumulation[/quote'] being liberal with pakis is good for future, but sorry no paki bat will make it to the 11, probably we can say the same for Indian bowlers.
carnish Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 being liberal with pakis is good for future' date=' but sorry no paki bat will make it to the 11, probably we can say the same for Indian bowlers.[/quote'] Kumble says Hi
