cowboysfan Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 can anybody explain trickle down stuff to me? the republicans want to cut taxes for the rich and hope they help in creating more jobs, has this ever worked in real life?
Clarke Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Step off the ledge. I gave you numbers where I showed that revenue collections INCREASED following capital gains rate cuts. Therefore' date=' it should be obvious that THE BUSH DEFICITS WERE A DIRECT RESULT OF INCREASED SPENDING!!. Sorry for the yelling, but you seem to be shutting your ears and yelling "na-na-na-na..." like a 5-yr old. [/quote'] Too much Limbaugh leads to this shouting nonsense :headshake: besides the idea of ignoring the great recession and picking convenient numbers over a short period of time. You can also add the years 2009-2010-2011 to your accounting gimmick. So let us know how the tax cuts worked out. You might pretend to be a moderate but your ideology & reasoning is no different from the far right. BTW LESS TAXATION MEANS REDUCED REVENUE WHICH OFTEN LEADS TO DEBT!!!!!!! THE BALANCED BUDGET IN THE LATE 90s HAD HIGHER TAX RATES!!!!! The bible does not say current tax rates are ideal even if Dubya had you believe so, if the govt needs to tax 40-50% at times, its not blasphemy punishable by death. Oh ffs the world does not begin or end at state level debt. Blue states with their so called tax and spend policy contribute far more federal taxes per capita than the red ones besides being better off in indicators like poverty levels. California needs fixing but there's plenty of dumps you have been ignoring conveniently. Here's what i said a few posts back: Tax rates are the lowest in decades & some increases combined with decreased spending in all avenues like medicare/medicaid/SS/defense can contribute to fixing the problems. How hard was that ? I'm putting every big spending hole on the table: Medicare/Medicaid/SS/defense. Why are taxes off limits ? When they were higher at the federal level in the earlier decades along with lesser spending, debt growth wasn't this alarming. Are you smart enough to understand that :winky: If you have no hopes from Romney/Ryan, there should be no enthusiasm from Ryan's VP ticket. His economic agenda is derived from the cult of Ayn Rand about chopping taxes and much less spending is indeed the roadmap to libertarian lala-land. Isn't this the plan for every recession: Reagan, Dubya and possibly Romney ? Considering so many of their partymen joined the cult of Norquist as well, isn't <20% tax rate the next target when the next recession comes in ? Will you then be defending the same idea of increased revenues when the last tax cut from Bush Romney was passed ?
