How can you know for sure? The rankings are bound to change by 2014.
Because the grouping is not done based on rankings. The groups for the next World Cup is done based on the performance of THIS world cup. So, the seedings for the next WC will be as follows 1) WI - winner of the finals 2) SL - loser of the finals 3) Australia - because they had higher NRR than PAK 4) Pakistan 5) India - they had higher points in Super 8 as compared to rest of the teams 6) England 7) New Zealand - they had better NRR than SA in the Super 8 (though they belonged to diff groups) 8) South Africa So, the groups will be Group A - WI (1), SA (8), Qualifier 1 , Qualifier 2 Group B - SL (2), NZ (7), Qualifier 1 , Qualifier 2 Group C - Aus (3), Eng (6), Zimbabwe , Qualifier Group D - Pak (4), Ind (5), Bangladesh , Qualifier The same process was followed even in this World T20. It was based on the results from the 2010 World T20. That is why Aus (2), Pak (4), SA (6) and Ind (8) ended up in the same group in the Super 8s, while Eng (1), SL(3), NZ (5) and WI (7) ended up in the other.

SO basically bangladesh gotta get bats stuck up their ass again???? :'( why does this always happen to us! btw good calculations, Dathsimian
Thanks. Actually, now that you bring it up, I think it could be that Bangladesh is in Group A instead of Group D. Because they are 9th seed. And, Zimbabwe in Group B. I am confident of the top 8 seeds but frankly not sure how they will accommodate 9th and 10th seeds. So, it could end up as, Group A - WI (1), SA (8), Bangladesh , Qualifier Group B - SL (2), NZ (7), Zimbabwe , Qualifier Group C - Aus (3), Eng (6), Qualifier 1 , Qualifier 2 Group D - Pak (4), Ind (5), Qualifier 1 , Qualifier 2

Been a passive but regular viewer of ICF and made an account just to post this :cantstop: P.S Though not sure if a lot of people are going to like me because I am a T20 fan rather than a test fan :haha:

Please do visit the IPL forum during IPL and you now have a CL T20 coming up. Does not matter if people like you - you have your preferences and that's perfectly normal. :two_thumbs_up:
