It just keeps coming: State bank gives overdraft facility to Vadra of Rs. 7.94 crore in 2007-2008 against collateral worth of only 1 lakh rupees. That's a collateral of 0.13%. :hysterical: These guys are raping the country in full view. Public sector bank overdraft helped Vadra buy land http://www.thehindu.com/news/national/public-sector-bank-overdraft-helped-vadra-buy-land/article3985446.ece?homepage=true

Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram may have described the controversial business dealings of Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law as transactions involving “private individuals” but the disclosure that the public sector Corporation Bank had extended an overdraft of Rs. 7.94 crore in 2007-2008 to Robert Vadra’s Sky Light Hospitality when his company had total resources of only one lakh rupees has left officials at the Mangalore-based lender hard pressed to explain whether the transaction conformed to normal lending guidelines.

Nothing will change, nothing will happen. India is corrupt from top to bottom. From lowest policeman to top politician. Oppo for example are not interested in pushing vadra issue. As its hidden agrement with all politicians/officals, that attack each other but not on corruption as thats all their business and money making scheme. BJP dont want to stop corruption as most of them are croepatis due to it. Congress , BJP , BSP etc etc all doing the same, making lots of money

Just Rs 71 lakhs. The amount is very un-Congress like. Shame on Salman Khurshid. What a small timer. How he got to hold a post in the cabinet is beyond me. Even mid level technocrats in the administration siphon off more than him.

He and his wife are well known in dilli political circle to be one of the most corrupt people under sonia mata. Even president Banerjee's son is on countless boards and has shares in companies for absolutely nothing. As soon as congress won in 2004, beta Banerjee started to be on many boards. He single handedly saved Unitech from going bust.

tNmTHGNHRBk Allahabad HC asks government to reply on why no probe is needed http://ibnlive.in.com/news/robert-vadra-allahabad-hc-asks-government-to-reply-on-why-no-probe-is-needed/299884-37-64.html

The Allahabad High Court has taken up a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against Robert Vadra over the allegations made by Arvind Kejriwal against Vadra and DLF. The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has asked the Central government to reply as to why Vadra should not be investigated. The PIL has been filed by social activist Nutan Thakur. The PIL asks the Prime Minister to order a probe into allegations against Vadra. The court has given the central government three weeks' time to reply. The next date of hearing on the PIL is November 21. The PIL says that despite denials by DLF and Robert Vadra, some basic questions remain completely unanswered, including the fact as to how a company could grow to Rs 500 crore worth with a mere initial investment of Rs 5 lakh. Meanwhile, the Congress has remained adamant saying it will not order a probe into Vadra's land deals. Speaking to CNN-IBN, Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said, "You cannot investigate lies. Mr Vadra has done his duty as a private citizen and according to law." Slamming Arvind Kejriwal for his allegations on Vadra, Manish Tewari added, "What has now interestingly come out is that these people are not prepared to respect the Supreme Court stay, they do not know the difference between an acre and a hectacre, not prepared to respect a multi-state bidding process and within 24 hours when they were confronted with very detailed rebuttals and raked over the hot coals of truth, their lies got exposed." "All allegations by Kejriwal have been found to be false," Tewari added. The Opposition, meanwhile, has been demanding an investigation. Just a day after Haryana government denied favouring Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Vadra and DLF, CNN-IBN accessed documents showing how Vadra bought acres of land in the Mewat region of Haryana below the circle rate. The documents suggest Vadra has been on a property buying spree in Haryana and had picked up acres of land directly from farmers in 2008 and 2009. Vadra's firm Real Earth Estates Ltd purchased over 27 acres in Mewat region and paid rates way lower than collector's fixed circle rates for the region. Villagers say land sale at rates lower than circle rates is common in Mewat. The Opposition now alleges low price land sale to Vadra should be investigated. Documents in possession of CNN-IBN suggest Vadra bought land around Mewat at an average price of Rs 2.6 lakh an acre during 2009. Registration documents show a firm, Messrs Real Earth Estates Private Limited as the purchaser through its director Robert Vadra. Strangely, while the collector's circle rate for property in the villages Shakarpuri and Ferozepur Jhirka in Mewat is Rs 16 lakh per acre, Vadra's firm purchased land from the villagers at the following rates: - Ruby Tabassum: 2 acres sold for Rs 7 lakh - Anand Dutch Foods India Ltd: 8 acres sold for R 20 lakh - Smt Memoona: 2 acres sold for Rs 7 lakh - Smt Razia: 2 acres sold for Rs 7 lakh - Sri Subhash Chand: 2 acres sold for Rs 6 lakh - Smt Firdaus Begum: 11 acres Sold for Rs 24 lakh The average price paid by Vadra for these purchases works out to Rs 2.6 lakh an acre, even as his firm paid up stamp duty on the official collector rate of Rs 16 lakh an acre. Collector rates are considered the base price for sale of land for revenue purposes and are usually far below the market price of the land.

Actually it isnt as big an issue as u seem to think. There is something called intangible asset which allows banks to give overdrafts like this if proper guarentee is secured. So collateral security isnt a must for every loan. Only thing is the bank has to take credit report and obtain proper clearence from ZO/HO which isnt a big issue for someone like Sonia Gandhi's son in law. So dont think like his other issues it will be hard for him to defend this partucularly considering he hasnt defaulted either so long as guidelines are followed. P.S. Its corp Bank not SBI

Its not a minor issue as well. For a person with the same finances and credentials as Vadra (except his relation with the Gandhi family), it will prove impossible to secure the overdraft on such a meagre collateral. Hence either the favor was done because of fear of the government or in hope of a quid pro quo, both of which are unethical practices. Vadra's business dealings are indicative of a perpetual motion machine, where he is able to bankroll his future projects from the gains in his current projects simply by virtue of purchasing them at rates cheaper than their actual worth. Clearly someone is losing money in these transactions and the only explanation is that they get something in exchange of making these concessions

As MP, I deserve respect: Congress MP Vithal Radadiya who pulled gun at toll attendant http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/as-mp-i-deserve-respect-congress-mp-who-pulled-gun-at-toll-attendant-278927

Vadodra: Congress MP from Porbandar in Gujarat, Vithal Radadiya, has been caught on camera pulling out a gun, brandishing it and threatening employees at a toll plaza near Vadorara. The MP has refused to apologise, saying he acted in self defense, though no other person is seen anywhere near him on camera for most part. "I am an MP, I deserve respect," he said today. (Watch: Congress MP defends pulling out his gun) The incident happened near a toll plaza at Karjan village last night, when the politician's car, on the way to Surat, stopped at the toll booth. In a police complaint, the toll booth employees have said that the attendant asked for the MP's identity card and the driver showed him a photocopy. When the toll attendant asked for the original, they said, Mr Radadiya angrily stepped out of the car with the gun in hand and pointed it at the attendant, even allegedly threatening to kill him. Footage from a CCTV camera installed at the toll plaza corroborates this. On camera the bearded MP, dressed in white, is seen strutting around the car with the gun, occasionally raising it and pointing it at people, poking the toll booth with it, clearly agitated. Other commuters passing through the toll plaza were reportedly too afraid to step out of their cars. Mr Radadiya denies none of this. Except that he claims that about 15 people had surrounded his car and so he had to grab the gun for self defence - "Are people free to attack us? I acted in self defense. Where is the police on a highway... Anything can be possible on the highway, people get looted and women are raped," he said. With an injured air he recounted to NDTV how his car was stopped at the plaza despite him being an MP. "MPs don't have to pay toll," he said, clearly astonished that he was stopped. The attendant's due diligence also did not agree with the MP, who said indignantly, "When I got down I was called a bogus MP. If a person calls me a bogus MP, they say my card is false, what do I do?" Mr Radadiya said the gun belongs to him; he has a licence for it. "Porbandar is a sensitive area and we need it for protection," he said. He soon slammed the phone down on NDTV.
