King Tendulkar Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Weird that ECB are allowing him to do this. Is quitting as odi and limited overs coach and wiull do only tests. Yes big work load and home sickness etc But if not up for it then surley should step down in all formats and let someone who wants the pay and do the job full time. And he made all that fuss on KP picking and choosing. Hypocrite

SLICKR392 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Giles appointed as England ODI and T20 Head Coach http://www.ecb.co.uk/ecb/about-ecb/media-releases/giles,320241,EN.html
Crookbond Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Who else thinks that this is a transition with Giles taking over slowly?
Sachin=GOD Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Who else thinks that this is a transition with Giles taking over slowly? definitely looks like that because till now I haven't seen any team having different coaches for different formats.
Sachinism Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Who else thinks that this is a transition with Giles taking over slowly? I think there was a podcast on CI recently where they were talking about Gilo taking over. Quite likely I guess
NareshK Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Now he can make more trips to opposition dressing rooms. Loser.
Crookbond Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 definitely looks like that because till now I haven't seen any team having different coaches for different formats. Note that he's moving from a coach's role to an administrator. Ashley Giles will report to Andy Flower. He's moving up the hierarchy of English cricket and he is given more responsibility.
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 More responsibility still means less day to day work, he obviously cba as has been talking about taking a break for weeks, he should just be sacked as his hearts not in it.
mr cricket Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Flower is a good coach, he afterall led England to World T20 title victory back in 2010, which was England's first major tournament win.
Number Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I think he should have remained till Champions Trophy , England have a great chance to win it.
King Khan Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 All I hope this aint involve with any of KP saga, ecb seems keeps busy a lot with invidual demands these days.
indiaregulator Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I can't really say a word against Flower. He took over a shambolic England team who were at an all time low. He took them from ashes humilation in 2007 to winning the ashes in 2009. Then won us the T20 world cup in 2010. Then absolutely destroyed the Aussies in Australia. Then consequently got us to the Number 1 spot. If he wants a rest, the blokes deserved it.
